History:
Kainan sa Balanghay was first established in the year 2002 at seaside dampa Paranaque
as a seafood restaurant. The name Kainan sa Balanghay is from our history as Filipino
Malays, a Balanghay is a boat that is used by the first Malays to establish a community. They
use Balanghays as a house. Our business model is based on the dampa style of cooking where
our customers buy fresh ingredients in the market and we cook it for them. Based on the
decision of the company to expand; we established another branch in Macapagal avenue and
Mall of Asia. Currently the restaurant is on its thirteenth year. It only has one remaining
branch in Macapagal due to the company losses that the company experienced.
Company rationale:
The companys sole reason for existing is due to the owners interest in cooking and
business. Merle Rayos was an office worker for twenty years and she wanted to have her own
restaurant. She established this restaurant because she was getting bored at home. She wanted
to have a pastime that will provide her the opportunity to earn money.

Mission Statement:
Kainan sa Balanghay is a seafood restaurant that sells delicious and remarkable dishes
for our customers which are mostly Filipino people or tourists. We do this to spread the
exceptional dishes that Filipinos can be known for and to cater to the needs of our customers.
Aside from our great food, we also treat our customers with the best service that we have.
Vision Statement:
Kainan sa Balanghay aims to be known as the number one seafood restaurant in seaside
Macapagal within the next two years. The restaurant will attain this through our Asian-Filipino
fusion cuisine, excellent staff service, and good customer relationships.
