Dear Editor,

We wish to submit a manuscript entitled Efforts towards designing more efficient tribocomposites based on PAEK and special graphite. for consideration by journal of material
science.
We confirm that this work is original and has not been published elsewhere nor is it currently
under consideration for publication elsewhere.
A lot of research has been done regarding the tribological performance on exposure to
aggressive environment on adhesive wear mode. Mainly the friction and wear
properties of polymeric composites is dependent on pressure and velocity (PV). In this
paper, we have reported the performance of thermoplastic semi-crystalline PAEK for harsh
environment i.e. optimum pressure and velocity. The composites showed very good retention
of friction coefficient and specific wear rate values up to PV value of 96.6 MPa m/s.
However recent research is concentrated on tribological properties, morphology of film
formed on counterpart surface that occur on exposure to harsh conditions for finding out the
locus of failure has become imperative. However every little is reported on very low wear
rate and coefficient of friction value with combined effect of excessive pressure and velocity.
The results obtained from SEM micro graph studies on the uniformity of film transfer will be
of great interest for polymer composites used for tribological application. Along with SEM
studies, advanced techniques surface specific analysis of fractured surface was carried out
using energy dispersive X-ray (EDAX) technique.
We strongly hope that theme of this paper falls in the interest of this journal.
