Charities!
While Key Clubs strive to make their school and community a better place, each with unique and special
service projects, as an entire organization, Key Club International works with Preferred Charities to ensure
their goals are also achieved. As Kiwanis' main focus is "serving the children of the world", Key Club takes
a similar stance heavily investing in youth-oriented programs. Seen within Key Club International's current
Preferred Charities, we are making the world a place a better place one day at a time for the children.

The Eliminate Project

With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined
forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Neonatal tetanus kills one baby
every 11 minutesnearly 49,000 newborn children every year. A significant
number of women also die due to maternal tetanus. The effects of the disease are
excruciatingtiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme
sensitivity to light and touch.
To eliminate MNT from the Earth, 129 million mothers and their future babies
must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation,
thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take $110 millionand the dedicated
work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family. So far, we have raised
US$110 million in cash and pledges since 2010.

Childrens Miracle Network

Every minute, 62 children enter a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. These
hospitals need donations to continue providing the best care available to the tiniest
of patients.
Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a nonprofit
organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing
awareness of its member hospitals. All CMN Hospitals contributions directly
benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct
life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide health care for
children whose parents cant afford to pay.
More than 170 children's hospitals are affiliated with Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals. Find a Children's Miracle Network Hospital near you and learn
about the work they are doing in your community.

March of Dimes
The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by
preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. March of Dimes was
founded by our 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, in the fight against polio.
After the discovery of the polio vaccine, March of Dimes focused their efforts to
improve the health of babies and has been successful with the help and enthusiasm
of many grassroots volunteers.
Since 1978, Key Clubs have been making a difference for babies everywhere.
Key Club members, like you, continue to support the March of Dimes all year long
by hosting service projects, raising funds and educating your community about the
crisis of preterm birth. Honor the 15 million babies born too soon worldwide this
Fall by Coloring Your School Purple to help end Prematurity during Prematurity
Awareness Month in November. In the Spring, continue your efforts with March
for Babies our signature fundraising event.

PTP!
The reason why we raise money for PTP is because it will benefit the children;
90% of unintentional injuries can be prevented! The money raised goes towards the training of
pediatric doctors,
nurses, and first responders. The funds raised for this program will also help to
purchase the much
needed pediatric equipment. Donations designated for the Pediatric Trauma
Program are spent in
three major areas: grants to our partner hospitals; grants to Kiwanis and Service Leadership Program clubs; and PTP safety items which are available for
purchase by the Kiwanis family at a subsidized cost.

What is a DCM?
A Division Council Meeting, or
DCM, is scheduled by your Lt
Governor four times a year.
These meetings are open to all
Key Club members and advisors.
Typically, the meetings will
move around the Division so that
all clubs will be able to
participate and no one needs to
drive a great distance all the time.
The purpose of these meetings
are:

1. Train Club Officers

2. Announce upcoming District
Events
3. Plan Division projects
4. Let Clubs share
information/success
stories/problems about projects
and fundraisers
5. Educate clubs about
International partners and
programs
6. Meet new people within the
Division and find out how other
clubs close by operate
7. Answer Club Member questions
