Class Description: The goal of this course is to give students the opportunity to provide students with an
opportunity to investigate different aspects of the animal health and care occupations. This content of this
course will include: veterinary clinical practicums, tool, material, parasite, species and breed identification,
comparative anatomy and physiology, animal reproduction, animal inheritance and selection principles, basic pet
grooming skills, animal restraint, nutrition and housing, medical terminology, animal welfare concerns, production
practices for large and small animals, production of small animals, how animal products and by-products are
processed and marketed, and disease control/management. This course will also combine fundamentals of
academics to include communications, career planning and management, technology, problem solving and critical
thinking, health and safety practices, ethics. Furthermore students are required to participate in at least three
FFA activities per quarter, which may include leadership-training experiences offered by the FFA.

your MAID. If you dont own it, do not write, draw, break or carve on it. Treat everyone with proper consideration, whether

he/she is in the classroom at the time.

Be on time, go to your assigned seat, get out your supplies & get to work right away, leave your excuses at the door,

bring necessary materials, wear appropriate clothing & footwear for the days task, be mindful of due dates and deadlines

and turn in your work on time.

Be nice or neutral to everyone; swearing, teasing, talking back and bullying will NOT be tolerated! Conduct yourself as a
