fall hazard from rooftops. Developed the training and rollout of working-at-heights fall kits, shop equipment tie-off, Aframes and field trailers for equipment tie-off. Provided additional expertise for fire prevention, protection and evacuation,
as the Fatal Risk Champion.
Significantly decreased hand injuries and body sprains by replacing the prior Towing & Recovery 20-foot, 300 lb. wire
cable, with 30-foot, 35 lb. synthetic-having 50% greater strength. First successful application of this synthetic use in the
mining industry.
Committed to extensive Field Risk Assessments and Training, and MSHA Compliance Support, providing for Maintenance,
Production and Coal Plant, resulting in significant EHS improvements in the field.
Assisted sites with development of risk assessments, JH, JHAs and JSAs. Addressed electrical safety, LOTO, confined
space, machine guarding, and forklift safety, ergonomics, confined space, hot work, PPE, etc.
Facilitated Fatal Risk ICAMs (Incident Cause Analysis Methods) following incidents. Created a proprietary Field Risk
Assessment Form used prior to major repairs or rebuilds, of heavy mining equipment.
Developed four-site Safety Information Systems, built upon Six Sigma project expertise. The system implementation
identified and prevented potential single or multiple fatality events.
Served as Secretary of Management/Union Safety Committee for a period of five years.

Purchasing Manager & Warehouse Supervisor (1995 2000)
On-site supervisor of warehouse and inventory supply processes, at various facility locations in North America and Africa.
Proven Impact & Success:
Developed and rolled out an innovative Monthly PO/Monthly Invoice program with major vendors, resulting in a 98%
reduction in invoices. Example- Caterpillar invoices dropped from over 3,000 a year to only 36.
Seconded (loaned for short term) to Hartley Platinum underground mine in Zimbabwe, Africa, as Supply Manager, reporting
to the President. Managed a budgeted $1 million per week for services and supplies expenditures. Department of 70
employees, with four direct reports; supporting mine workforce of 3,500 indigenous employees.
Created a 7,000 line item warehouse database for BHP Ekati Diamond Mine. While on-site, built an inventory database of
repair parts and industrial supplies, prior to production going live. Warehouse operations and mine facility were located 150
miles south of the Arctic Circle, 175 miles north of Yellowknife, NT, Canada. Note that this mine was the original location,
served by the Ice Road Truckers TV series (1998/1999).
Reformatted item descriptions to greatly ease search feature for end users, producing faster and more accurate results.
Performed on a combined 28,000-item inventory database.

Zortman Mining/ Pegasus Gold, Montana- 300 Employees
Supply Manager & Warehouse Supervisor (1989 1995)

Served as the Supply Manager and Warehouse Supervisor for the open pit gold and silver mine operations, during the massive
changeover from contractor mining to self-mining.
Proven Impact & Success:
EHS- Key expert of DuPont STOP program, a low conflict process for addressing observed tasks for safety adherence or
neglect.
Updated, edited and revised the official corporate EHS manual, as offered to and accepted by the Safety Department and
Management.
Purchased complete Caterpillar fleet for transformation to self-mining. Required a massive effort in cataloging and
warehousing, to accommodate tremendous increase in inventory.
Negotiated a $500,000 3-year savings on explosives, by addressing the combined requirements for three mines, with a sole
supplier, who was already being used by all.
Wrote Standard Procedures Manual, which encompassed all facets of warehousing, data entry, and purchasing. Thereafter
distributed as a model to corporate office, and all Pegasus Gold mine sites.
Received Best of Show for Producer/Supplier presentation at the annual Montana Mining Association meeting (1993).
Served Local Community: Volunteer Fire Department (5 years), Volunteer Fire Chief (1 year), State of Montana- Licensed
City Water Operator (6 years).
