Learning Experiences:
1. Introduction: (How will I engage the learners?)
Bring the group down onto the mat and hand out a book each between
two students.
Tell students to begin by looking at the front cover, then tell the students
to have chat to their reading partner about what they see and what they
think its about.
Bring their attention back and go around the circle asking them what they
discussed in their groups and what they think the book could be about?
Compliment students on their reading when they finish a page, and help
them pronounce words if they are struggling.
Question the students while reading to get them thinking about the text
they are looking at.
10 min
20min
Ask the students if they remember reading at the start of the week with
Mr Jackson and the topic that they were focusing on this week.
Ask students what does cause and effect means, making sure to explain
what the students say to the group after they answer.
Look for examples of cause and effect in the reader demonstrate one as
an example and see if they can find their own.
Model the first questions to give them general idea of what to do.
Once you have done this walk them through the worksheet the questions
and what they have to do to in order to answer the questions for
themselves.
Answer any questions that may pop up during the lesson and sit with
them for a few minutes wile they do it then get up and check how they
other students are going to let the group have some time to work
independently.
Check regularly on you group giving them about 5-10 minutes of solid
time for them to work out the questions and then for you to regularly
check up on them.
Once that is done sit back down and ask them how far they have gotten
through and what they have found out about the book so far.
5min
3. Lesson conclusion: (How will you summarize the learning and relate it
to the lesson objectives?)
Once they have done the work sheet ask them some final questions
How they find the activity?
What was most challenging?
What did you learn from the book its self?
