materials. The recommended ratio
is 100 parts of OPC and 50 parts of
Tapecrete P 151 by weight. The PMC
material is placed on the surface to
be treated after wetting the surface to
saturation but without any free water.
The curing of the PMC material is only
nominal and required for maximum

2. Place and fix 12mm N.B.M.S. threaded nozzles of 75mm length making holes upto required depth maintained by drilling
arrangement in an approximate grid pattern at a spacing not exceeding 1.5M c/c on the entire raft prior to or during
concreting. Similar threaded nozzles to be fixed at a regular interval not exceeding 1.5M apart along the construction joints.
Similar nozzles should also be post fixed at critical points, if required, by drilling.
3. Apply two coats of TAPECRETE Acrylic Modified Cementitious Slurry Coating over the properly rendered external face of the
Retaining Wall.
4. Provide 12mm thick plaster in the ratio 1:4 (Cement : Sand) on the external face of the retaining wall if backfilling is not done
with sand or earth.
5. Inject CICO Non-shrink Polymeric Waterproof Grouting Compound admixed with Cement Slurry through the nozzles already
fixed under pressure by pump. The grout should flow through all pores & voids thereby sealing them.
6. Seal the nozzles after the grouting operation is over with CICO Quick Setting Admixture admixed with cement, wherever required.
7. Apply one coat of TAPECRETE P 151 Acrylic Polymer Modified Cementitious Slurry Coating over the RCC from inside.
8. Lay Fiberglass Cloth over the TAPECRETEP 151 applied surface when the coating is still green.
9. Apply one coat of TAPECRETE-P 151 Acrylic Polymer Modified Cementitious Brush Topping over the laid Fiberglass Cloth
before fixing tiles with tile adhesive/ mortar.
10. Fix tiles with tile adhesive/mortar.

SPECIFICATION VI
CICO SYSTEM OF POLYMER FLOORING
Technical Specifications
SURFACE PREPARATION
For any flooring, when a thin layer is applied on any concrete substrate, the substrate should have the following basic physical
conditions:
a)
b)
c)
d)

Free from any laitance, loose particles and/ or any greasy material
Sound, strong concrete without any void or cavity
Surface should be prepared thoroughly by means of air-water jetting, wire brushing, so that the surface is free from laitance
Substrate should be pre-wetted after cleaning, prior to laying the polymer modified floor topping

PRIMING
Mix TAPECRETE P 151 with cement (OPC) in the ratio of 1kg cement : 0.52kg TAPECRETE P 151. The mix has to be stirred
thoroughly and applied by brush on prepared surface. Normally 250gms of TAPECRETE P 151 is required for one m2. The
consumption may increase depending upon surface conditions.
MIX PROPORTION
Polymer modified floor topping comprises:
1 part of TAPECRETE P 151
2 parts of Portland cement
1.5 part of coarse sand
1 part of fine sand
1 part of CICO Flortop-E
NOTE: All quantities measured by weight only. Superplasticiser such as CICO Plast Super or equivalent shall be used if necessary
(to achieve workability).
METHOD OF MIXING
The cement is to be thoroughly mixed into the TAPECRETE so that no lump is formed while mixing. Add 50% of the sand into the
slurry and mix it thoroughly to a uniform consistency. Add balance part of sand and CICO Flortop-E and mix thoroughly until a
workable consistency occurs.
METHOD OF LAYING
After applying the priming coat, the Polymer Modified Flooring Mix shall be placed in accordance with good flooring practice. Use
heavy steel/wood straight edge to level topping. Particular care must be taken at the corners and edge of the bays. Polymer
flooring can be laid inthickness ranging from 4mm to 10mm. 8mm/m2 thick flooring will require about 19kg of mixed material.
FINAL PREPARATION
After laying out, the flooring should have a broadcast layer consisting of cement, and CICO Flortop-E/cement mix should be
broadcast in the ratio of 2:1 i.e. 2kg CICO Flortop-E : 1kg cement in two equal stages, evenly over the surface of the freshly
laid layer as soon as the surface has been leveled. Immediately after each stage of broadcasting of the CICO Flortop-E/cement
mixture, toweling should be carried out, either by hand, or by means of a power float. Normally 3kg/m2 of dry CICO Flortop-E is
required to provide a thickness of 2mm (approx.).
CURING
The entire surface should be cured by means of burlap or by covering with curing compound. Curing should start after five hours
and continued strictly upto 24 hours.
