Grading expectations:

Students are expected to do and show quality work. This means: Each problem neatly and
orderly shows or describes the procedure that was used to get the answer.
Homework is checked when assigned (nearly daily) for completion. It is the students
responsibility to check their odd-numbered answers with the back of the textbook and to ask
questions when needed. A list of answers without work will not receive credit! You MUST
show work!!
Homework, tests, quizzes, and other math class events are posted on my web site calendar
at kdavismathclasses@weebly.com.
There may be unannounced graded checks periodically between quizzes and tests to ensure
student understanding and progress. It would be very short (one or two problems) and given
after homework questions have been discussed and students have had an opportunity to
clarify concepts and ask questions.
Students are expected to participate during class by asking and answering questions, as well
as taking notes and actively participating in class activities.

Assessment Correction Policy: If a student scores less than a 70% on their test or quiz they
are required to correct it and submit it stapled to the original assessment. The original
assessment MUST accompany the corrections to receive credit. All correct corrections will
earn credit back onto the grade. If a student scores more than a 70% and would like to
improve their grade, they may follow the same procedure, but it is not required.
Attendance to class everyday is imperative when learning math. Some of the required work
will be completed in cooperative groups - if you are absent, your group is missing an
important part and may not be able to make ample progress on the assigned work. Make up
work will be accepted according to the school handbook policy.
