Threatened abortion
A threatened abortion is vaginal bleeding that occurs in the first 20 weeks of
pregnancy. The bleeding is sometimes accompanied by abdominal cramps. These
symptoms indicate that a miscarriage is possible, which is why the condition is
known as a threatened abortion or threatened miscarriage.
Vaginal bleeding is fairly common among pregnant women. About 20 to 30 percent
of women will experience bleeding during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Approximately 50 percent of these women will carry their baby to term.
The exact cause of a threatened abortion usually isnt known. However, its more
common among women who have previously had a miscarriage.

What Is a Threatened Abortion?

Isoxsuprine Generic Name: isoxsuprine (eye-SOX-you-preen)
Brand Name: Vasodilan

Contraindications :
you are allergic to any ingredient in isoxsuprine
you have bleeding of the arteries
you are in labor or have just given birth

Indications:
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation,
or dietary supplement
if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
if you have bleeding problems

Iron Folic Acid

B Complex

Multivitamins & minerals (oral tablet, chewable, oral liquid dispersible, oral lozenge,
extended release, oral powder reconstitution.

Contraindications :
You have high levels of Iron in the blood, you are allergic to any ingredients in
Vitamin B.

Indications:
Severe allergic reactions(rash hives, itching) difficulty breathing, swelling of the
mouth, burning, numbness or tingling

Dextrose 5% in Lactated Ringers Solution (D5LRS) -

useful for daily maintenance of body fluids and nutrition, and for rehydration.

INDICATIONS OF D5lr :
. Treatment for persons needing extra calories who cannot tolerate fluid overload.
. Treatment of shock.
