The physicians and staff at the Esse Health Tesson
Ferry Internal Medicine office strive to deliver an
exceptional experience by offering adult patients
access to healthcare services beyond primary care.
Whether 21 or 81, Esse Health works closely with
patients to keep them well through education, helping
with any necessary lifestyle modifications and focusing
on preventing them from getting sick.
Doctors on staff include Dr. Janelle Roethemeyer,
Dr. D. Todd Hammond, Dr. Elizabeth Remus, Dr.
Michael Fedak, nurse practitioner Shannon Shepherd
and physician assistants, Josie Zuckerman and
Meredyth Schroyer. In addition to the Tesson Ferry
Internal Medicine staff, the following specialists are
brought into the office each week to provide patients
with more comprehensive healthcare services:
Esse Health Registered Dietitian Rachel Sestrich is
at the office coaching patients on diet and nutrition.
Dr. Steven Kurzewil is a general surgeon and sees
patients at this office. He will diagnose, treat and
schedule out-patient procedures.
Podiatrist Dr. Brian Martin visits the office and
meets with patients for any foot, ankle and nail
problems.
Psychologist Dr. Paul Wang sees both pediatric and
adult patients.
This office also offers on-site X-ray services.

Premier Care has three locations: South County, Fenton

weekdays 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
Physician staffed evening appointments are available
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the South

under the leadership of Lynn Schmittgens, RPh, can be

still very accessible to patients, said Schmittgens.

In addition to prescriptions, The Medicine Shoppe

Assisting Schmittgens are pharmacist Jim Hok,
pharmacy technicians Karen Richard, Amira Mujkic and
Amie Reynolds, along with pharmacy interns Shelby,
Lauren, Emily and Kevin.
Recently, Schmittgens partnered with Jerry Callahan,
RPh, and local businessman Bill Jehling. The focus of the
Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is to better serve the Affton
community, which has many new residents from all over
the world. They want to be THE pharmacy for their
Bosnian neighbors.
Clients say they like the personal service, long-term
relationships and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. The
delivery guy, Dave, is the friendliest, most gracious
gentleman, Schmittgens said.
There are times when a knowledgeable presence can
really help a family, said Schmittgens. When people are
really sick or struggling with a chronic disease, or a

Family medicine physician Allison Flammang,

D.O., joined Premier Medical Specialists in August
serving patients from ages 5 to 105.
We have an emphasis on preventative medicine,
well-woman exams and sports physicals for the whole
family, said Flammang, who completed her residency
in family medicine at Des Peres Hospital in 2016. As
part of her residency, she cared for patients of all ages
on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Fresh and eager to make a difference in the health
of families in the neighborhood, Flammang looks
forward to building relationships with new patients.
My staff members are extremely approachable
and passionate about providing the best care possible,
she said.
Flammang, who has lived in Missouri most of her
life, earned her doctor of osteopathy degree from Des
Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Her office offers same-day appointments for school
and sports physicals. She is accepting new patients.
Premier Medical Specialists is a group of
experienced bariatric, internal medicine, primary care
and cardiology specialists.
The group offer physicals, general wellness services,
immunizations, pre-operative screenings and disease
management for chronic conditions such as high
