From The Editor

Welcome to the September 2016 Edition of Holden Torque. Another huge edition with
plenty going on. A reminder for all, nominations for Committee positions close one month
prior to the October AGM. They must be given to the Secretary this month. At each AGM all
the Committee positions are declared vacant and a new Committee is elected there and
then. Please dont be shy if you have time and something to add, we need you.

Runs Report September 2016

Since last newsletter ..
August 7th. All Holden day Richmond.
We had 11 cars on display this year and the weather was perfect. The grounds were a little wet at
the swap meet end but there were still plenty of bargains. Another top day out.

Sunday 21st August. Maitland Motorfest.

Great effort folks, 20 cars present, a new record for MMF. It was a bit cool to start but warmed up
nicely. Dave C and I did some networking for our car show and the members present handed out
our first Crazy About Chrome 2017 flyers.

Crazy About Chrome 2nd April 2017.

Progress so far.
Venue, Hunter Stadium car park
Charities, as voted on by email, Variety, Little Wings and Westpac chopper.
Sponsors so far, Shannons, ANSMA, Autobarn, Gasweld and Atlantic Oil.
DJ, Pinky will be providing music and commentary, this leaves all our members free to run the show, not be
tied up on the microphone like last time.
Events, Rocker cover racing with special kids events and best decorated comp.
Market stalls, trade stalls and possibly rock n roll dancers.
Precision driving events, If we are to have driving events we need a coordinator to organise and run them.
If no one comes forward to do this there will not be any driving events. If we do have them they will need
to be strictly supervised and have a set of rules laid down and enforced. (Such as any loss of traction means
disqualification).
We need all members to ask around for support from local businesses in the form of donations of goods
for goodie bags and sponsorship.
We will have 20 trophies and are looking for sponsors for each of these at $100 each.
This and our major raffle will be our main source if income prior to the day.
Trophy Categories...
Best Holden, Best GM, Best Ford, Best British, Best Mopar (Chrysler, Valiant), Best Japanese, Best 4wd, Best
Hotrod, Best Bike, Best Sedan, Best Wagon, Best Commercial/ute, Best Panel Van, Best Coupe, Best
Ratrod/custom, Top Paint, Best Trim, Best participating club, Most talked about at show, Peoples choice
