Registration Mechanics:
* The tournament will be open to all current active members of the organization.
* The registration for women and men will be done separately.
* The registration will be done at the tambayan and online. Sign-up sheets will be
provided.
* The registration will be open at August 31, 2015 and it will be closed at 5:30 PM on
September 7, 2015.
* All participants will be required to pay a registration fee of P50.00. They will be
required to indicate ALL their free times and contact numbers upon registration.
* Draws for the tournament will be conducted on September 7, 2015 at 5:30 pm (or
later) and will be posted in the Tennis UP Work Group.
General Guidelines:
* The tournament will have group stages and a single elimination for the top 16
after the group stages.
* There will be 8 seeded players for each division, comprising of their respective top
8 players while unseeded players will be drawn randomly. If for any reason, a
seeded player is unable to join, the ranking will shift up to comply with seed
changes. This will be under the discretion of the Secretary General of the House of
Athletics and the Tournament Directors.
* Matches will officially start on September 9, 2015.
* Schedule of play will be arranged by the House of Athletics considering the free
times indicated in the registration form. All players will be notified not less than 2
nights of their upcoming match by the tournament directors or any member of the
House of Athletics. Schedule of matches will also be posted on the Tennis UP
Facebook group.
* If in any case players are not available with the arranged schedule, they must
inform the tournament directors or any member of the House of Athletics within the
day the notification was received. A rescheduling will be done provided that the

reason for unavailability of the requesting team is valid. Validity of the reason will
be under the discretion of the Tournament Directors. If decided invalid, no
rescheduling will be done.
* Players must bring their own tennis balls and decide upon themselves which set of
balls to use.
* Balls will be provided for matches after the Semi-finals.
* A 5 minute warm up will be given provided players are punctual. If one player is
late, no warm up will be given to them. If both players are late, warm up will still
NOT be provided.
* An umpire will be assigned to ALL matches. Umpires are expected to arrive ON
TIME for their respective match. Failure to follow schedule will result in
consequences decided upon by the House of Athletics.
* This is an official tournament and all participating players will receive ranking
points as soon as the tournament ends.
Match rules:
* All matches will be supervised by the assigned umpire. The umpire will record the
match in the provided match sheet (with or without statistics depending on their
(players and umpires) preference).
* Before a match (including the warm up), a toss coin will be conducted. The winner
will decide the service or the side of the court.
* Service alternates each game.
* The players will change court every odd-numbered sum of the players game
points.
* All matches, except for the semi-finals and championship, will be a pro-set match
(8 games, 1 set). The semi-final and championship matches will be contested with a
best of three sets, 6 games per set, match.
* All pro-set matches must be won by at least 2 games.
* A 7 point-tiebreak will be played if in any case teams are tied at a game score of
8-8 (6-6 for the semi-finals and championship). In the tiebreak a slide-two finish will
be applied if teams are tied at a point score of 6-6.

* In a tiebreaker, service alternates after each odd-numbered point. The player who
would normally be serving after 66 is the one to serve first in the tiebreak.
* If play is interrupted for reasons beyond the players control, the match will be
rescheduled and resumed later at the same point.
