Dear Director,
As a professional writer with experience in training adults in a professional and academic setting, I'm a strong candidate
in teacher recruitment. I'm a bachelors degree holder seeking placement as an English teacher.
My expertise as a working writer gives me a unique set of skills as a potential teacher. As a journalist with over five
years of experience, the rules of grammar and writing are the professional standards that guide my work on a daily basis.
Separately, I have also cultivated pedagogical skills as a job trainer and an elementary school staffer. Those experiences
have built in me the teacher's instincts that have been fortified in to the foundations of professional expertise with
Oxford Seminars' TESOL instruction. My candidacy not only encompasses the basic instruction English teachers are
required to undergo, but a working knowledge of how the language is applied in a live setting.
A 2010 graduate of William Jewell College, I've carried two main careers in food service and journalism. Both are very
different in practice but share some basic ability demands: interpersonal skills, rapport building, an establishment of one
as an authority and accuracy. Both also share a similar facet that's not directly related to my professional development:
novelty. As a freelance journalist, I've gotten exposure to a wide variety of settings, subjects and communities. Similarly,
food service's fluid demands have created opportunities for a flexible person like me to step in to new and challenging
roles like management and training. My training has creating in me a versatility and discipline that will engender
success as an English teacher living abroad.
I welcome further questions about either my teaching or writing experience, or any other inquiry that may arise upon
reviewing my qualifications. Thank you for reviewing my qualifications and candidacy.
Sincerely,

Jesus Lopez-Gomez
