Dear colleagues,
It gives us immense pleasure to invite you all for the first of its kind Hemodialysis
Training Workshop Concepts in Small Animal Nephrology & Hemodialysis Techniques.
Bombay Veterinary College, established Hemodialysis & nephrology consulting facility for
small animals under the auspices of Department of Medicine on its 125th anniversary in 2010.
Since its inception the facility has helped about 600 canine renal patients and have performed
more than 250 hemodialysis treatment sessions. The facility has helped many acute renal
dysfunction patients to recuperate from this life threatening illness and lead a healthy life
thereafter, as well as have successfully supported many chronic dialysis dependent patients for
the maximum possible time which in itself a record in the country.
We, at Bombay Veterinary College, consider it as our moral obligation to share
knowledge, improve understanding of clinical concepts & set standards in the field of small
animal nephrology & hemodialysis.
Objectives: To inculcate thorough understanding of small animal nephrology concepts and help
to improve clinical handling & therapeutic management of renal patients with conventional and
advanced extracorporeal methods
Training format: Lecture presentations, case discussions and demonstrations
Basic qualification requirement for participation: M.V.Sc. (Veterinary Clinical Medicine /
Veterinary Medicine) with small animal focus.
Venue: Bombay Veterinary College, MAFSU, Parel, Mumbai 400 012
Duration: October 3rd to October 5th, 2016.
Registration information: Kindly register well in advance with duly filled registration form.
The registration fees is as under For Post-Graduate Students/institutional faculty : Rs. 2,500/- per delegate
For Veterinarians in Practice: Rs. 15,000/- per delegate
On demand (with less candidates): Rs. 30,000/- per delegate(other than scheduled training)
Total seats: Maximum 15. Registration on first come first serve basis.
Accommodation: Participating candidates will have to arrange their own accommodation &
food. If available, college guest house and student hostel may be availed at extra cost.
