Significance of project identified

Project is feasible

You have presented information about the organisation in an

acceptable manner. The research problem was presented. The
organisation was described. The key issues were articulated in a
reasonable manner. However the focus of your research is quite
broad. Indeed absence of a dedicated human resources function
is quite a valid issue. You have highlighted a couple of issues
that is employee development, employee engagement and
employee retention. Although all these HR issues are linked to
each other, you need to narrow the focus of your study to one of
these issues. Keeping all these issues in your study will make the
project of this level and scope quite complex. Form the
introduction one can conclude that the core issue of this study is
employee retention. You can also rephrase your title for example;
How the Human Resource Management practices of ABC
Communications influence the employee retention, a critical
review.
The research purpose has been reasonably stated. The
research purpose and the research questions are linked with the
problem statement. However as mentioned in the above
comment you need to narrow the focus of your study. To achieve
that you will have to rephrase your area of investigation. Most of
your research questions are linked to employee retention so you
will not require changing much there. However, the first research
question is too broad and it can be removed. It will be a better
option for you to focus on retention as per introduction of the
proposal therefore you can remove the word performance from
the second question. The rest of research questions are fine and
link to employee retention. You will need to narrow the focus of
the significance of the project as well. This is a feasible project
but you will need to narrow the focus to the core issue of this
study that is employee retention.

Research methodology

The literature is linked to human resource management. This

literature will require considerable expansion when you write you
project draft. You will require linking the literature to the core
issue of your study.

Research methodology has been adequately explained.

However, as you are using one organisation your research is a

case study so you will require discussing case study

methodology in more detail with references. You have
adequately explained qualitative data collection. More details of
proposed data analysis methodologies should have been
explained. Methodology section will also require considerable
expansion with more references at the draft stage. You your
interview questions are same as the research questions.
Research questions inform the reader what the study intends to
investigate. The research questions become part of the
concluding sections of a project, when a researcher reports to
what extent his study has answered these questions. Interview
questions are derived from the research questions. You should
rephrase the interview questions as in interviews the researcher
asks about peoples opinions who are the respondents of the
study. You need to use phrases like What in your opinion are
the causes of low employee retention at ABC? and What
practices do you recommend to be introduced etc. Research
approvals for this research have been obtained.

Overall Comment
This is a feasible project. However the student needs to do incorporate the recommended changes in the project draft once he
narrows the focus of his study. Adequate referencing should be used in all the sections. Please ensure that you incorporate the
above comments in your project draft. Further make sure to use interviews quotes when you discuss your qualitative findings in
the project draft.
