Al Haydaria Power Plant Project
1. Objective:
Under contract no. 41.Baghdad Company (TBC) organized the
following offsite training courses for trainees nominated by the
Ministry of Electricity (MOE). The contractual requirement was to
achieve (350) man-day of offsite training covering various aspects of
the plant as required by MOE.The contractual requirement is defined
under section ??? page no. ??, ?? & ?? of the contract.
1.1. The first offsite training course will be given in the ABB
transformer factory in Istanbul-Turkey covering the Transformer
part of the training program that included the following courses:
TRANSFORMER DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO ASSESSING THE RISK OF FAILURE OF
POWER TRANSFORMERS.
DIAGNOSIS OF TRANSFORMERS
ONLINE DIAGNOSTIC MONITORS FOR TRANSFORMERS AND KEY
ACCESSORIES
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF TRANSFORMERS
REPAIR, REFURBISHMENT AND ON-SITE REPAIR
ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS
ON & OFF LOAD TAP CHANGER
BUCHHOLZ RELAY
TRANSFORMER INSTRUMENTATION

There will be ( ???)MoE nominated trainees that attended all the

above courses and their names will be sent to BTC .
1.2. The second offsite training course will be given in Amman-Jordan
covering the Reverse Osmosis and Demineralized Water process
plant by Metito Company the program will include the following
courses:
REVERSE OSMOSIS PACKAGE
PLANT SUMMARY
COMMON FACILITES
PRETREATMENT Fouling & Scaling
PARAMETERS TO BE MONITORED During Operation
MEMBRANE FLUSHING & CLEANING

The third offsite training course will be given in Amman-Jordan

covering the oil treatment plant & forwarding skids by GEA
Westfalia Company. The program will include the following
courses:
The Separator
The Treatment Plant
The HCO Separator type OSC50
The waste water Separator type WSC50
The bowl
Cleaning the bowl
Faults on the bowl
Maintenance
Safety Rules

There will be ( ???)MoE nominated trainees that attended all the

above courses and their names will be send to BTC.
1.4. The fourth offsite training course will be given in the ABB
switchgear factory in Istanbul-Turkey covering the ABBSwitchgear and their protection relays. The training program
will include the following courses:
Circuit Breaker Major Components
Configurations and Settings
Multifunction Protection and Switch bay Control Unit
Engineering and Technical References
Installation and Commissioning
Communication to the Station Control System.

There will be ( ???)MoE nominated trainees that attended all the

above courses and their names will be sent to BTC

Conclusion:
1. GE Training (Offsite & On site ) will be by others
2. TBC established the offsite training courses detailed above
and the
following table shows the summary.
