ABSTRACT

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immunedeficiency Syndrome(AIDS)is a

global health problem because it causes a high mortality rate. Human Immunodeficiency Virus
(HIV) can affect anyone and any age group. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome(AIDS)need attention, as well as the use of antiretroviral (ARV)
therapy. The use ofregimens antiretroviral in people with HIV / AIDS has contributed to the
incidence of kidney disease. One of the parameters used to measure kidney function ie serum
creatinine. This study aims to determine whether ARV therapy affects kidney function in patients
with HIV / AIDS with antiretroviral therapy in hospitals Mangusada period January 2015 to May
2016.
The design or type of research is the studystudies of cross-sectional (cross-sectional) with a
retrospective review of data collection medical records of patients. The data obtained will be
analyzed by a statistical confidence level of 95%. To find out the evaluation of the usedrug
therapy of antiretroviral by comparing the serum creatinine before and after therapy. Sampling
technique used in this study is a non-probability sampling (purposivesampling).
The subjects were selected as sample numbering 33 people, consisting of 66.67% male and
33.33% female. Based on the results of Wilcoxon test, ARV therapy did not significantly affect
renal function seen from changes in serum creatinine values before and after treatment (p> 0.05).
