may increase the risk of obesity that affects the occurrence of cardiovascular disease.
Aim: To determine the Relationship Between Fast Food Consumption Frequency and Obesity

Occurence Among Teenagers in SMA Negeri 3 Metro 2016

Methods: An analytical survey with case control design. Population was students in SMA negeri 3
Metro as many as 640 people, 54 people were taken as sample and divided into case group and control
group. This research used chi-square test to analyze the data.
Result: The frequency of fast food consumption in often category was 38.9% and 61.1% in

the rare category. Teenagers who had fast food consumption behavior in often category were
mostly found in the case group (55.6%). The results of the analysis with chi square test
showed correlation between frequency of fast food consumption and obesity, the probability
of p-value = 0,026 < 0.05; OR: 4.375 [CI; 95%: 1.340 to 14.280].
