Abstract.
Mathematics as a discipline that is associated with the world of education. In
addition we can not deny math can not be separated from one's daily life, for
example, only in terms of buying and selling, IT etc. Later, another reason why
education is important in life dalah as a means of communication that is strong,
clear and concise. Submission of information in various ways to improve the
ability to think. Thinking is a high level of cognitive function and thought
involves the manipulation of the brain to such information when the kit to form
concepts, engage in problem solving reasoning and decision making. And one
high-level thinking skills is the ability to think critically.
Critical thinking skills is one of the important ability to have students in addition
to others such as creative mathematical abilities, reasoning, understanding,
communication and representation. Given that the ability ktitis needs of the
students, the development of critical thinking is an issue that is important to do.
To improve the critical one is to be applied learning model that aims to improve
students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. One model applied learning,
namely Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL).
POGIL an active learning model that uses learning in teams, guided inquiry
activities to develop knowledge, questions to improve the ability to think critically
and analytically, solve problems, reporting, metacognition, and individual
responsibility.
POGIL (Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) is a learning model that is
designed with a small group that interact with the instructor / teacher as a
facilitator. This learning model to guide students through exploration activities to
enable students to construct their own understanding (guided inquiry).
