1.1. STUDYTHEMANUALFIRST
Beforeinstallationoroperationofthedispenser,firststudytherelevantpartsoftheInstallationandUser
Manual.Considerallthehazards,warningsandnotesinthemanual.
TheproducerprovidesthisInstallationandUserManualinordertopresentallthenecessaryinformation
andinstructionsforfullandefficientinstallation,useandmaintenanceofourcombineddispensersofthe
OCEANtypeseries.
Thismanualwascreatedbytheproducerandformsaninseparablepartofthedispenseraccessories.
Theuseofthismanualisdoneatthefullresponsibilityoftheuser;anyoperationsnotdescribedhere
mustbeconsideredforbidden.Anyoperatorwhoperformssuchoperationswilltakeallresponsibilityfor
theresultsofsuchactions.
The manual is organized into individual sections, which have their subsections, so each topic is
independentandalsocorrespondstooperationallogic(learnprepareusemaintain).
Themanualproperlyreflectsthetechnicalsituationatthemomentofsaleofthedispenseranditcannot
be deemed inadequate as a result of any subsequent changes and updates according to the latest
circumstances.

1.2. AUTHORIZEDUSE
The dispensers of the OCEAN series are intended for stationary use for dispensing of gasoline, motor
diesel,biodiesel,lightfueloils,keroseneandethanolgasolinemixtures(max.E85)inspecifiedquantities
fromthestoragetankintomotorvehicles.

ATTENTIONThedispenserisacomplicatedappliancethatcarriesoutanumberdemandingfunctions.Before
commissioning,thetanksandpipesmustthereforebecleanedandthecleanlinessofthefuelmustbeverified
(dirtyfiltersinthedispensercannotbeconsideredasareasonforwarrantyrepairs!).Beforecommissioning,
theelectricalwiringandproperconnectionsmustbereviewedtopreventelectricshockinjuryandtoensure
explosionprotection(thefuelisclassIflammablematerial).

NOTICEAnychangestothedispensermayrevokethevalidityofthedevicecertification.Seethecertification
documentsandthemanufacturersinstructionseverytimewhenconsideringanymodificationoftheelectrical
wiringand/orthewholedevice.

Everyfueldispenseristestedattheproductionplantconcerningitsfunction,safetyandmetrology.Thedelivery
of each fuel dispenser includes certificates which the producer must provide to relevant authorities upon
request.

2. OCEANLINEDISPENSERS
2.1. DISPENSERDESCRIPTION
OCEANdispensersserveforpumpingofliquidfuelsandoil,ethanolandpetrolmixtures(maximumE85)into
vehiclesandforcommercialpurposes.ThedispensersareequippedwithhighqualityJapanesehydraulicsmade
by the TATSUNO Corporation (herein also referred toas TATSUNO) and an efficient and reliable electronic
counter of the Czech company TATSUNO EUROPE. All fuel dispensers can operate in the manual mode
(individually,offline)orintheautomatedmode,remotelycontrolledfromthefuelstationkioskandconnected
tothecashdesk(POS)viaadataline.
Fuel dispensers of the OCEAN EURO series have their enclosure (cover, door, lid etc.) made of a
varnishedsteelsheet,stainlessmetalsheetornonflammablelaminateapprovedforthisusebythestatetesting
authority(StatementofFTZ04ST0083).Thesupportingelementsofthedispenserframeworkaremadeof
varnishedsteelsheetsof0.82.5mmthicknessorofstainlessmetalsheet.ThestandardcoloroftheOCEAN
dispensersiswhite.Everydispenserisequippedwithhydraulics(pumpingmonoblock+pistonmeasurement
transducer) of the Japanese company TATSUNO. It is a worldwideproven type of hydraulics with a high
reliabilityandalongservicelife.Thepumpingmonoblockisequippedwithanintakeandoutputfilter,agasand
vaporseparator,acheckvalve,andarotationpumpcapableofoperationpressureregulation.Thefourpiston
measuringtransducercanberegulatedbyadjustingofasinglepiston.Eachmeasuringtransducerincludesa
highly reliable explosionproof pulse generator. Each fuel dispenser has a highly reliable explosionproof
electroniccounterwithowndiagnosticsanddisplaysshowingthepumpedamountinvariouscurrencyunits,
fuelquantityinlitersandthefuelunitpriceincurrencyunitperliters.Displaysofdispensersfornonpublicsale
showonlythedispensedfuelquantityinliters.Thedispenserhosesaremadeofhighqualitygasolineresistant
rubberwithantistaticprotection.Asastandard,thedispensersaredeliveredwithanautomatedstopnozzle.

2.2. CERTIFICATESANDAPPROVALS
OCEANEUROcombineddispensersareinconformitywithallEuropeanregulationsrelatedtometrologyand
safety.
2.2.1. METROLOGY
The appliance has been certified by the Czech Metrology Institute in Brno, notified body No. 1383. The
assessmentofapplianceconformityusedtheprocedureB(typetesting)+D(ensuringproductionquality)
according to government decree No. 464/2005 Coll., which sets technical requirements for measuring
apparatusesandimplementsintheCzechRepublicthedirectiveoftheEuropeanParliamentandEuropean
Council No. 2004/22/ES. A new ES type certificate (MID certificate) has been issued for fuel dispensers
(gasoline,diesel,ethanolandtheirmixtures),TCMNo.141/074491.Typetestswerecarriedoutinaccordance
withOIMLR1171,OIMLR118andOIMLD11.
The company TATSUNO EUROPE a. s. received a Certificate of the Quality Management System
No.0119SJC00607from the Czech Metrology Institute and thus met the requirement of qualification for
declarationsofconformityoftype,basedonensuringmeasuringapparatusproductionqualityaccordingto
attachmentNo.2,procedureD(Chapter6)ofthegovernmentdecreeNo.464/2005Coll.Thevalidityofthe
certificateisreviewedbyauditsinoneyearintervals.
2.2.2. SAFETY
ThedispensershavebeencertifiedbytheauthorizedentityNo.210ThePhysicsTechnicalTestingInstitutein
OstravaRadvanice,notifiedbodyNo.1026,fortheuseinareaswithanexplosionhazardaccordingtothe
directive94/9/ES.ThefueldispensersareconfirmedtocomplywiththeEuropeannormontheconstructionof
fuel dispensers no. EN136171. A new ES type certificate (ATEX certificate) for fuel dispensers No.
FTZ14ATEX0065Xhasbeenissued.Allpartsofdispenserslocatedinareaswithanexplosionhazardcomply
withtheEuropeandirectiveATEXno.94/9/ES.
The company TATSUNO EUROPE a. s. has received an Acknowledgement of quality insurance
No.FTZ02ATEXQ030fromthePhysicalTechnicalTestingInstituteinOstravaRadvaniceforfueldispensers
andaccessories.Thevalidityofthiscertificateisreviewedbyauditsonayearlybasis.
2.2.3. ELECTROMAGENTICCOMPATIBILITY(EMC)
ThedispensershavebeentestedbytheCzechMetrologyInstituteinBrno,notifiedbodyNo.1383.The
assessmentofapplianceconformitywascarriedoutaccordingtothedirectiveoftheEuropeanParliament
andEuropeanCouncilNo.2004/108/ESandinaccordancewithOIMLR1171,OIMLR118.

3. INSTALLATION
3.1. INSTRUCTIONSFORSAFEWORK

CAUTION
Thisappliancemustbeinstalledonlybyqualifiedauthorizedstaffincompliancewithrelevantnorms,
directivesandlocallimitationsandaccordingtothismanual.
Intheimmediatevicinityofthedispenseritisforbiddentosmokeoruseopenfire.
Alwaysfollowtheproceduressetformanipulationwithgasolineanddiesel.
Monitor any leakage in the dispenser. In case of fuel leakage resulting from insufficient tightness,
disconnectthepowersupplyandcontacttheserviceorganization.
Electricinstallationmustbeperformedbyqualifiedexperts.
Makesurethataproperlyworkingfireextinguisherisavailable.
Whenmanipulatingwiththeequipment,useproperprotectionaids.

3.2. RECEIPT,TRANSPORT,UNPACKING
The customer concludes a contract with the producer to organize the dispenser delivery. If the delivery is
ensuredbythecompanyTATSUNOEUROPEa.s.,thecompanywilltransporttheproducttotheagreedlocation.
Theproducerhassufficientexperiencewithmanipulationandtransportation.Ifthedeliveryisensuredbythe
customerinanothermanner,theproducerwillensureprofessionalloading,butwillnotberesponsibleforthe
transport.Ingeneral,thedispensermustbetransportedproperlypackedandalwaysfixedtotheframe.Inthe
transport vehicle the dispenser must be secured against damage (covers, paints), motion and tipping. Any
manipulationandtransportmustbedoneinaverticalposition;thedispensermustnotbeplacedonitscovers.

3.3. DISPENSERPLACEMENT
3.3.1. GENERALLY
Theproducerrecommendsplacingthedispensersontherefugeislandsofthefuelstationinsuchawaythat
thedirectionofthevehiclearrivalmatchesthearrowsinFig.1,whichalsoshowsthenumberingofproductsat
thedispenser.
3.3.2. SINGLESIDEDDISPENSERORIENTATION
SinglesideddispensersaremarkedwiththeletterLandR(Lleft,Rright)followingthedispenser
typedesignation(e.g.BMP4022.OELisaleft,singlesided,singleproductdispenserandBMP4022.OERisa
right,singlesided,singleproductdispenser).Thedispenserorientationisdescribedfromthepointofviewof
theincomingvehiclesseeFig.13andFig.14.

3.3.3. DISTANCEOFTHEDISPENSERFROMTHETANK
The producer recommends that the maximum distance of the dispensers from the fuel tank should be
50metersandthemaximumsuctionheight5.5meters.Otherwise,suctionperformanceofthedispensermay
be hindered, which leads to lowering of the fuel suction pump performance (nominal flow rate) and/or
increasednoiselevels.Alltechnicalrequirementsforthefuelstationmustbegovernedbyaprofessionally
preparedanddulyapprovedfuelstationprojectconsultedwiththedispenserproducer.
The manufacturer recommends that the minimum distance of a singlesided dispenser from the kiosk wall
shouldbe1m.
3.3.4. STATIONFUELTANKTYPE
CombineddispensersOCEANEUROcanbeconnectedtoundergroundfueltanksorabovegroundfueltanks.
Asteelbaseframeisinstalledhorizontallyandcementedtotheshaftthatconnectstothesuctionpipingofthe
storage(underground)tank.Thisbaseframeisnotpartofthedispensersupply.Thedispenserisattachedto

CAUTIONNECESSITYOFOVERPRESSUREVALVE USING
If the dispenser is connected to aboveground tank, due to safety reasons the suction piping must involve an
overpressure(check)valvetopreventproductleakagefromthetankcausedbygravity.Thevalvesimultaneously
servestofreetheoverpressureinthesuctionpipingbackintothetank.UsevalvetypeOPW199ASV(AntiSiphon
Valve).Thevalvetypeneedstobechosendependingonthedifferencebetweenthemaximumheightofthefuelin
thetankandtheminimumpointofthefuelpipingseeFig.16,heightA.
Atthelowestpointofthepiping,astopandbleedvalveshallbeinstalled,whichshallbeclosedbytheoperator
wheneverthedispenserisidle.Iftherearentsuchvalves,anyleakageinthefuelsystemmaycauseuncontrolledfuel
leakage(seeFig.16).

NOTICE Aboveground tanks. The pumping monoblock of fuel dispensers is structurally designed with a
permanentlyopenairseparatorintotheventingchambercreatedbythespaceinthemonoblockbodyandthe
spaceofthemonoblocklid.Inthetopwallofthelid,thereisanopeningcontainingaconnectorDN6forconnecting
airventingpipes.Topreventoverpressureoftheventingchamberofthemonoblockinthedispensersidlestage
incaseofinsufficientairtightnessorblockingofthecheckvalve,andtopreventtheensuingleakageofthemedium
intotheinnerspaceofthedispenserandsubsequentlyintoitssurroundings,itisnecessarytointerconnectthe
outputofthepumpingmonoblockandthestoragetank.Theconnectioncanbemadeusingapipe10x1(DN8)
connectedtothepipeconnectorDN8.ThepipeconnectorisscrewedoverasealintheopeningM12x1,5inthetop
wallofthemonoblocklid.Theoutletofthepipemustbeledintothelidofthestoragetankusingapipecorner
connectorDN8.

3.3.5. DISTRIBUTIONPIPES
Thedispensermanufacturerrecommendsinstallingdistributionpipesinthestandardmanner,witheach
dispenserpumphavingaseparatepipetotherespectivefueltank.

NOTEThereisalsotheoptionofabackbonefueldistributionsystem,whereseveraldispensers(pumps)are
connectedtoasinglesupplypipefromthetank.Thedispensermanufacturerdoesnotrecommendthisbackbone
distributiontypeduetotheriskofinstabilityinthefuelsuctionfromthetanks.Ifthedesignershoulddecidetouse
thebackbonedistributiontypeanyway,thedispenserproducerrequiresinsertingdiscvalvesinthesuctionpiping,
tofunctionallyisolateindividualdispensers.DiscvalvessuchasC09DN32areproducedbythecompanyArmatury
Groupa.s.,Kravae.

3.3.6. DISPENSERLOCATIONINRELATIONTOEXTERNALINFLUENCES
CAUTION HazardousareasaredefinedaccordingtoSNEN60079101:2009inthesurroundingsofthefuel
dispenser. Fuel dispenser of the OCEAN EURO series must not be located in explosion hazard areas, i.e. in
hazardousareasdefinedbythenormSNEN60079101:2009.Electroniccountersusedinthesedispensersdo
not have anycover, are located inareas with no riskofexplosion andare separated from other areas with a
partitionoftype1accordingtoSNEN136171:2013.

3.3.7. PRESSURESYSTEM
OCEANdispenserscanbeconnectednotonlytoaclassicalsuctionsystem,wherethefuelissuckedout
ofthefueltankviathepumpslocatedinthedispensers,butitcanalsobeconnectedtoapressuresystem,
wherethefuelispushedinthedispensersdirectlyoutofthetanks,whichhavecentralsubmersible
pumps(suchastheREDJACKETsystem).Theadvantageofthepressuresystemisverylownoiseoperation
ofthedispensers,butthedisadvantageishighdemandforthequalityandsealingofthefuelpiping.In
the pressure system the dispenser has no pumping monoblock. The fuel piping is connected via an
emergencybreakawayvalve,whichisunderthefueldispenserandisfirmlyattachedtoitsbaseframe.
Fromtherethefuelgoestothefilterandisdistributedviametersandcontrolvalvestothedispensing
hosesandnozzles.

CAUTIONAccordingtotheEuropeannormEN136171:2012,OCEANEUROdispensersconnectedtoapressure
systemmusthaveanemergencybreakawayvalve,whichwillshutoffthepressureintakeincasethedispenser
isbrokenoff!Thebreakawaycouplingisnotpartofthestandardequipmentoffueldispensers.Thedispenser
producerrecommendsusingthevalveOPW10BF.Thefuelintaketothedispensersisthroughapipewithacap
nutwithaninternalthreadG1".ThepositionoftheintakepipingisshowninAppendix1,whereyoualsocansee
therecommendedconnectiontothepressurepiping.

CAUTION Itisnecessarytoensurethatthemaximumpressureatthefuelintaketothedispenserdoesnot
exceed0.35MPa.

3.3.8. SATELLITEDISPENSER
AsatellitedispensercanbeattachedtoallOCEANtypefueldispensers.Itisanextradispensingsitea
columnwithadispensinghoseandnozzleplacedontheothersideoftherefugeisland.Asatellitecanbe
usedtorefueltrucks,havingthehosesofthemaindispenserandthesatellitefillbothsidetanksinone
truckatthesametime.Thesatellitedispenserhasnoowncontrolelectronicsorhydraulicsanditisfully
dependentonthemasterdispenser.Animageofasatellite,itslayoutandbaseframecanbefoundin
Appendix1.
3.4. MECHANICALATTACHMENTOFTHEDISPENSER
The dispensers are attached to special base frames with anchoring bolts supplied along with the
dispensers.Thedispensersbaseframeisnotpartofthestandarddispenserequipment,butitcanbe
orderedadditionally.Thebaseframeissetinconcretetotherefugeisland,thenthefrontandrearcovers
ofthedispenserareremoved,thedispenserisplacedonthebaseframeandfixedwithbolts.

CAUTION Due to safety and environmental protection it is necessary to install a leakage tray under the
dispensertoavoidleakageoffuel.
Subsequently,thedispenserisconnectedtothesuctionpipingusingaflexiblepipe(suctionpiece),which
ispartofthedispenserdelivery.Appendix1showsthebaseframesandlayoutsofalldispensertypeswith
markingofthelocationofthesuctionpipingandgasolinevaporrecoverypipesfromthedispensers.The
deliverypipingofvaporrecuperationisconnectedtothepipingwithalidG1".

3.5. ELECTRICWIRINGOFTHEDISPENSER
ElectricwiringoftheOCEANfueldispensersrequiresprotectionagainstcontactvoltage(accordingtothe
normSN332000441ElectrotechnicalregulationsElectricalequipmentPart4:SafetyChapter41:
Protectionagainstelectricalshock,published:August2007,whichcomplieswiththeinternationalnorm
HD 60364441:2007) and also requires that appropriate electrical cables must be connected to each
dispenser.
Itisimperativethatallfueldispensersatthestationbeinterconnectedwithagroundingconduitand
connectedtoagroundingsystem.Forthegroundingconduit,agreenyellowconduitofatleast4mm2
crosssectionoraspecialflatconduitmaybeused.Thegroundingconduitmustbeconnectedtoacentral
groundingclampofthefueldispenserlocatedinitsbase(M10bolt),identifiedwithagroundmark.

ATTENTION All the electrical cables must be resistant to gasoline vapors and must have good insulation
attributes, because they will be under longterm influence of an aggressive, explosive environment. For these
purposes,themanufacturerrecommendsusingharmonizedcablesoftypeH05VV5FandH05VVC4V5K,resistant
togasolinevapors.Examplesofelectricwiringoffueldispensersinsuctionandpressuremodelsareshownin
Appendix2.

NOTEToallowforeasyinstallation(cableendinginadistributionbox)itisrequiredthatallcableterminations
enteringthefueldispenserhavesufficientlengtheachendatleast3mabovetheground.

cases there must be used the online UPS type. Interference, voltage drops or blackouts can cause frequent
blocking of the dispensers, errors in the communication between the computer and the dispensers, computer
errors(dataloss)etc.

3.5.3. DATA(COMMUNICATION)LINE
Thedatalineservestocontrolthefueldispenserandtotransferdatafromthedispenserremotely,when
the dispenser is in the automated mode. The dispenser is controlled with a single purpose console, a
stationcontroller,ordirectlybyacomputerinthefuelstationkiosk.Ifthedispenseroperatesinmanual
modeonly,thisdatalinedoesntneedtobeinstalled.Toinstalladatalineitisnecessarytoleada5core
shieldedcommunicationcableH05VVC4V5K5x0.5(seeTable6)toeachfueldispenser.Thedatacable

4. BASICFUNCTIONSANDSETTINGSOFDISPENSERS
Thesetupoffueldispensersiscarriedoutbymeansofasetofsetupparametersoftheelectroniccounter
thatregulatethefunctionalparametersofthedispenserandwhichcanchangethemodeandbehavior
of the dispenser in various situations. Depending on the type of the installed electronic counter,
parametervaluescanbeviewedandchangedbyaremoteIR(infrared)controller,aservicekeyboardor
bythekeysonapresetkeyboardonthedispenser.
Thesetupmethodofthedispenserdiffersdependingonthecounterintheheadofthedispenser.The
followingchapterdescribesthebasicfunctionsandsetupproceduresforthecountersPDEXandTBELTx.

4.1. PDEXCOUNTER
TheelectroniccounterPDEXforfueldispensersmadebythecompanyTATSUNOEUROPEa.s.issetupby
aremoteIRcontroller.Servicetechniciansauthorizedbythedispenserproducerusetheyellowservice
remotecontrollerPDERT5S,whichallowsfullsetupofallparametersofthedispenser.Managersoffuel
stationsusethewhiteremotecontrollerPDERT5O,whichenables:

readingofnonresettablelitertotalizersofalldispensinghoses

readingandresetofdailyelectronicliterandcurrencytotalizersofallhoses

settingofindividualproductprices(incaseofmanualoperation)

readingandsetupofthedispensersoperatingparameters

Thesetupmodecanbetriggeredinthedispenserbytheabovemethodonlywhilethefueldispenseris
idlei.e.whenfuelpumpinghasbeencompleted,allnozzlesarehungintheirnozzlebootsandallsales
(transactions)havebeencompleted.Therearetwoaccessmodes:
Operatormode,intendedforfuelstationstaffallowsonlyreadingofvaluesfromtheelectronic
totalizers and values of the basic parameters of the dispenser. The values cannot be changed nor
reset.
Managermode,intendedforthefuelstationmanagerallowsnotonlyreadingofvaluesfromthe
dispensers, but also resetting the daily totalizers and setting basic operational parameters of the
dispensers.Accesstothemanagermodeisprotectedbyapassword.
4.1.1. PDERTREMOTECONTROLLERDESCRIPTION
DispenserswithaPDEXcountermustbecontrolledbyanIRremotecontrollertoreadvaluesfromthe
dispensersdisplays(totalizers),tochangethedispensersoperatingmodeortosetvariousparameters
ofthecounter.Thekeyboardoftheremotecontrollerhasthefollowingkeysandlayout(seeFig.20):

Apartfromsettingandreadingofparametervaluesoftheelectroniccounter,itisalsopossibletousethe
remotecontrollerforthefollowingfunctions:
Deliveryamount/volumepreset.The<A1>,<A2>,<L1>,<L2>and<CLEAR>buttonscanbeused
inthesamewayasthepresetbuttonkeyboardforpresettingthedispensedvolume/amounton
thedispenser.
Displayheatingtest.The<ON>buttonenablestenstingthefunctionofthedisplayheating.After
pressingit,thedisplayheating(ifinstalled)isturnedon.Theheatingisautomaticallyturnedoffif
theteperatureishigherthan0C.
Unblockingthedispenserafterdelivery.Ifthedispenserisinthemanualmodewithblocking
aftereachdelivery,itispossibletounblockthedispenserwiththe<0>button.The<C>button
unblocksasinglesideofthedispenser.
Unblockingthedispenserafteranerror.Ifthedispenserisinthemanualmodeandanerroron
the dispenser occurs, it is possible to cancel the error state by pressing the <0> button or by
removingandreplacingthedeliverynozzle.

5. OPERATION
5.1. INSTRUCTIONSFORSAFEOPERATION
A fuel dispenser is a piece of complicated equipment that must perform many demanding functions.
Consequently,beforecommissioning,cleaningoftanksandpipesmustbecarriedoutandthecleanlinessofthe
fuel must be verified. Before commissioning the dispenser, the electric wiring and connections must be
reviewedtoavoidelectricshockandtoavoidtheriskofexplosion.

5.2. PUTTINGTHEDISPENSERINTOOPERATION
Fueldispensersareswitchedonandoffatthemaindistributionboxofthefuelstation,wherethepowertothe
dispensersleads.Eachfueldispenserhastwopowersupplypointsfromthemaindistributionbox:

Powersupplyofthefuelandvacuumpumpelectromotors(3x400V)

Powersupplyoftheelectroniccounterandswitchingcircuits(230Vstabilized)

Bothofthesesupplypointsareprotectedwithadequatecircuitbreakersthatswitchthedispensersoffandon.

RECOMMENDATION Turningthedispenseronshouldbecarriedoutasfollows:
1)

Turnonthebackuppowersource(UPS)locatedinthekiosk(agreenlightwillcomeupontheUPS).

2)

Turnonthe230Vcircuitbreakerforstabilizedpowersupplytotheelectroniccounterofthefueldispenser(an
automatictestofalldisplaysegmentswillbecarriedoutandthedispensersdisplayshowthevaluesofthe
lastdelivery).

3)

Turnonthe3x400Vcircuitbreakersoffuelandvacuumpumpmotors.

Thefueldispenserisnowreadytostartdispensing.

5.3. OPERATIONOFTHEFUELDISPENSER

NOTICETheoperationofthefuelstationfallsundertheresponsibilityofitsoperator,whomustmonitortheprogress
ofdispensing.Ifacustomerataselfservicedispenserviolatestherequiredprocedures,theoperatormustinformthe
customeraboutthepropermanipulationrules.Theoperatormustalsomarkthefuelstationcautionzoneswithwarning
symbols(nosmoking,noopenfire,directionofarrivaltothedispenseretc.).Theremustbeopenlyaccessiblefuelstation
operationrulesondisplayforthecustomer,shouldheorsheneedanyinfoaboutthebasicrequirements.

Theactivationofthedispenseriscarriedoutbytakingthedeliverynozzleoutofthenozzleboot,whichalso
automatically triggers a reset of the data on the electronic counter. After that, the pump electromotor is
activatedanddispensingcancommence.Thedeliveryspeediscontrolledbythedeliverynozzle.Thedeliveryis
terminatedbyclosingthenozzle(releasingthecontrollever)anditssubsequenthanginginthenozzleboot,
whichalsoswitchesoffthepumpelectromotor.Thedispensedvolumeisshoweduntilthenexttimethenozzle
istakenout,oruntilpaymentiscarriedout.
5.3.1. DELIVERYOFFUEL
Theliquidmeasuredbythemeterisledtothedispensinghoseanddispensingnozzleattachedtoitsend.For
selfservicefuelstationstherearestopnozzleswithasafetyshutoff.
Acontrollevelallowsregulatingtheflowrateuptoacompletestop.Inthebasicversionthedispensingnozzle
isdeliveredwithaleverarrest.Atthecustomersrequestitispossibletosupplyadispensingnozzlewithoutthe
arrest.Inthiscasethelevermustbepressedconstantlyduringdispensing.Whentheleverisreleasedorwhen

thedispensingstopnozzlefallsoutofthecarfueltankopening,theflowoffuelstops.Thestopfunctionalso
activateswhenthecartankisfullwhenthesensoropeninginthenozzleisfilledwithfuel;theflowwillstop
evenwhenthecontrolleverispressed.Thesafetyfunctionalsohelpsagainstimproperhandlingofthenozzle,
i.e.whentheoutflowextensionispointedmorethan15degreesoffthehorizontallevel,theflowstopseven
whentheleverispressed.Aftertheapplicationofthestopfunctionandsafetyfunction,thecontrollevermust
bereleasedtoautomaticallyreverttoitsdefaultposition.

carfueltankorifice.Inthatcaseyouneedtofindadifferentposition.

5.3.2. ELECTROMECHANICALLITERTOTALIZERS
Upon request, OCEAN dispensers can be equipped with electromechanical totalizers to monitor the total
consumedfuelineachdispensinghose.Themetersareonthedisplayofthefueldispenser.Foreachdispensing
hose or nozzle there is one sevendigit electromechanical totalizer that states the quantity of whole liters
pumpedthroughthegivenhose.Formultiproductdispenserstheelectromechanicaltotalizersarelistedonthe
displayfromtopdownorfromlefttorightandarenumberedwiththehosenumbers.Variantsofthelayoutof
theelectromechanicalmetersonthefueldispenserdisplaymasksareshowninFig.24.

Uponthecustomersrequest,combinedOCEANdispenserscanbeequippedwithavaporrecoverysystem,
whereavacuumpumpsucksthevaporsoffuelsexceptdieseloilandbiodieseloutofthedispensingnozzles
outletbacktothefueltank.
In case of vapor recovery in a singleproduct dispenser, the vacuum pump is powered directly by the
electromotorofthedispenserspump.Incaseofmultiproductdispensers,eachsideofthedispenserhasits
ownvacuumpumppoweredbyanelectromotor.
Thequantityofrecoveredvaporsisregulatedaccordingto
thefuelflowrate.Thismeansthatiffuelisnotbeingpumped
intothetank,thevaporrecoveryfunctionisoff.
The correct function of the vapor recovery system is
monitoredbyavaporflowmeterVRS1.M,whichisinstalled
at the outlet of each exhaust vacuum pump. The flow of
vaporsthroughthesystemissignaledeitherbyagreendiode
litonthedisplaypanelorbylitdisplaysegmentsonthefirst
symboloftheunitpricedisplay.
Aslongasthevaporrecoverymechanismissetproperly,the
signalingoftheexhaustactivityisactivatedwheneverfuelis
beingdispensedandwhenthevaporsgothroughtheexhaust
pipes,i.e.thevaporflowsensorVRS1.Misactive.Apartofthe
hydraulic module of the OCEAN dispenser with the
electromotor, two exhaust vacuum pumps and VRS1.M

Thedisplayresets(ca1.5seconds)andthepumpengineswitchesonnowthedispenserisreadytostart
dispensing.Afterrefuelingthevehiclestank,thecustomerputsthenozzlebackandpaysforthefueltothe

Deliveryprocess:Thecustomercomestothedispenserandtakesoutthedispensingnozzleofthedesired
product. The dispenser asks the control center in the kiosk for a release. The control centre sends to the
dispensertheunitpriceoffuel,themaximumamount/volumefordeliveryandallowsdispensing.Thedisplayis
reset(approx.2secondsafterthenozzleislifted)andthepumpenginestarts.Afterfillingthevehiclestank,the
customerputsthenozzlebackandgoesintothekiosktopaythepriceandreceivesataxdocument(receipt)for
thepayment.Thedispenserisimmediatelyreadyforthenextcustomer.Becauseintheautomatedmodethe
dispenserisremotelycontrolled,thefuelunitpricedoesnotneedtobesetmanually.Theproperunitpriceis
automaticallysetbythecontrollingcomputerforalldispensersofthestation.

NOTEThedisplayresetonlyhappensafterthedeliveryisauthorizedbythecontrolcenter.Thetimefromliftingthenozzle

million liters of delivered fuel. This warranty does not cover consumables. When filing a claim, the
