that would benefit her and the infant. She is able to understand English, Tagalog, and Ilokano. The patient prefers to use Tagalog or
Ilokano as a medium of instruction during the health teaching.

3. Justify and mention at least
3 benefits of fiber during
pregnancy
Topic Content
A. Identification and importance
Fiber keeps everything moving through the large
intestine, and fights against all-too-common
constipation. Also, fiber-rich foods are usually
nutrient-dense, meaning they fill you up without
adding tons of calories. Although not technically a
nutrient, fiber is an important part of a healthy diet.
Found in fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains,
fiber (aka roughage) is the part of the plant that we
don't digest. Instead, it acts as a broom and "sweeps"
as it passes through the digestive system.
The goal is to get 25 grams to 35 grams of fiber per
day
B. Fiber rich foods
A bowl of oatmeal topped with fruit such as
blueberries makes a tasty, high-fiber breakfast. If you
find milk unpalatable due to morning sickness
symptoms, make porridge with water instead, and add
a little honey to sweeten.
