Nissan Environmental Long Term Vision

Improvements to the combustion engine could cut CO2 emissions by 30% by 2015.
Future hybrid vehicles could reduce CO2 up to 50%.
Only sustainable solution: Electric Vehicles (EVs & FCEVs) using renewable energy
Renault-Nissan forecasts a 20% market share of a global 10% market penetration of EVs by 2020.

Incentivising the citizen

CURRENT SITUATION
FEDERAL INCENTIVES: Expired since January 2013
REGIONAL INCENTIVES:
- Wallonia: incentive for the purchase of EV not extended in 2014
- Flanders: Minimum rate on ATN tax for EVs

PROPOSITIONS
Send a strong signal with federal incentives, coupled with regional incentives
3 levers of actions:

Federal incentivization: through direct financial incentives or undirect incentives

(tax breaks for instance)

Regional incentivization: more clarity for the customers

Information about the incentives offered to the citizens

Spain (Movele)

22

Best practice:

NISSAN GROUP STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL

11

Favourable taxation
CURRENT SITUATION
CIRCULATION TAX: Minimum rate for EVs
REGIONAL INCENTIVES:
- Flanders: No BIV tax as of 1 March 2012 (first admittance tax), Road tax only
+/- 74 instead of 1900.

PROPOSITIONS
CLARITY FOR THE CUSTOMERS !!

Bonus/Malus system: Increase bonus for the cars emitting less than 50g

ATN: Advantageous taxation for companies & independents investing in zero

emission

Use of favourable taxation to raise awareness on the benefits of EV:

-

NO circulation tax

Use of bus lanes

Free parking

EV Procurement
Providing incentives in the procurement of EVs in the public and
private fleets is essential to success. The public office and large private
investors should show the way and demonstrate the market
readiness of EVs.
Milan e-Taxi project: Municipalitys aim is to replace up to 1.000 Taxi
with EV, which means 20% of existing Milan Taxi fleet.
DHL EV fleet procurement: 40 e-NV200 to cover last mile deliveries in
city centre.
British Gaz EV fleet procurement: 100 e-NV200 in a plan to have 10%
of fleet as 100% EV
France (UGAP/Bailly national tender covering the postal service and
other key fleets)
UK Government to procure EVs through their public tender process are
key benchmark to be followed.
