Detailed final baseline schedule = submit within 20 working days after the date

of the written notice to proceed and prior to the first progress payment whichever
occurs first.
Progress schedule = submit at the end of each month along with the monthly
progress payment application.
Narrative = Each submission shall include a narrative that includes:
1. Detailed descriptions of progress, including comparison of planned to actual
rates of production, key deliveries to site, construction, erection, testing and
commissioning.
2. A discussion of the basis for any work sequencing, logic, interdependencies or
original activity duration revisions incorporated into an updated schedule.
3. Comparison of planned and actual progress, with a brief commentary on any
actual or forecast delays or problems that might have an impact on the
completion fate of the work, and a discussion of the measures being (or to
be) adopted to overcome these.
4. Records of Contractors personnel and construction equipment on site.
5. Progress photographs.
6. Safety statistics, including details of any hazardous incidents and activities
relating to environmental aspects and public relations.
7. Any other information specifically required by the Engineer.
Look-ahead schedules = provide a two-week rolling window schedule of the work
planned to be completed the following two weeks at each site meeting.
Project photographs = take weekly photos (at a minimum) during construction.
The following information should be included in the photographs: date when the
photograph was taken and by whom, contract number, contractors name, location,
direction of view, description, contracts photo file number. Deliver to the Owner
and Engineer on SharePoint.
In the photographs, document the following: faulty work, type of excavation (width
of trench, etc.), sheeting and shoring used, dewatering methods, condition of
bottom of excavation, and work on elements.
Weekly newsletters (optional) = prepare weekly newsletters and e-mail a pdf
copy to the Engineer and the Owner every Monday morning. Newsletters shall
summarize the Work completed the previous week and shall include pictures
associated with this Work.
Submittals = All shop drawings shall be submitted in SI metric units. Where
measurements are quoted in IP units, the SI equivalent should be superimposed on
them. Keep one reviewed copy of each submission on site for records. All shop
drawings shall be identified as per the standards in the Halton Water & Wastewater
Facility Design Manual. Allow 10 working days for the Engineers review of each
submission. In shop drawings and brochures, delete information not pertinent to the
project. Maximum shop drawing size shall be 900mm x 1200mm

Spare parts list = Within 60 working days on notice to proceed submit on MS


Excel copy and one hard copy of a completed form entitled Inventory of Spare
Parts and Tools. Update and submit this form every month.
CMMS = Submit within 120 working days of notice to proceed one electronic MS
Excel copy and one hard copy of a completed computerized maintenance
management system form entitled CMMS Database
Concealing work = provide minimum 48 hours of notice to the Engineer prior to
concealing work which may require inspection.
Water supply = enough water will be provided once only by the owner for the
purpose of disinfecting the following facilities: all process piping, tanks and pumps,
and all facility plumbing and yard piping.
Enough water will be provided only by the owner for the purpose of leakage or
pressure testing the following facilities: all facility process and plumbing piping, and
all yard piping.
Temporary heating and ventilation = maintain inside temperatures above a
minimum of 10C in areas and adjacent to areas where construction is in progress or
ongoing. The permanent heating system of the building may be used if available.
Date of Substantial Performance and Warranties for heating system will not
commence until the entire system is in as near original conditions possible and is
certified by the Engineer. This date shall not be prior to Substantial Performance of
the Contract.
Construction zone delineation = where contract limits for the project may
conflict with the Dundas widening contract limits, the KCL is to negotiate with the
Dundas widening contractor to ensure delineated construction zones such that the
Region of Halton does not assume the role of constructor as defined by the
Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Region will not assume any costs
associated with delays due to scheduling conflicts with the Dundas Widening
project.
Site storage/loading = Do not unreasonably encumber premises with products.
Store materials and equipment in KCLs storage area only.
Fire protection = provide and maintain temporary fire protection equipment
during performance of the Works required by governing codes, regulations and
bylaws. Burning rubbish and construction waste materials is not permitted on site.
Access roadways = All construction access roadways must be continuously
maintained dirt, dust, water, and mud free. Daily cleaning of roads shall be
completed where the Contractors activities have tracked mud, dirt, or debris.
Contamination of soil = Remove any contaminated soil and replace with fresh
clean material. Leave site in a clean sanitary condition.

Construction fencing = Provide construction fencing, silt fencing, and hoarding


around the perimeter of the contract and working limits. Maintain the fences and
surveillance of the work.
Environmental protection = control noise level in accordance with local by-laws
and MOECC Standards. Install all erosion and sedimentation control measures as
indicated on the drawings and review with Engineer before proceeding with other
site work. Prevent dust nuisance resulting from construction operations at all
locations on the site. Protect existing services, land, and water courses.
Dust control = Control dust through wetting down with water and power sweeping
or by the construction of temporary access routes using Engineered materials
.Transport dusty materials in covered haulage vehicles.
Mud control = Keep station road and public roadways clean and free from mud.
Provide mud mats or wash station to prevent tracking mud from any portion of the
contract limits onto any paved roadway. Obtain and pay for services of street
sweeper until SP date. This activity shall not be terminated at any time during this
period unless directed by the Engineer.
Surface water and dewatering control = control all surface water and
groundwater including rainfall, run-off, seepage from cofferdams and diversion
channels, ice and snow. Ensure that erosion is controlled and that flooding of
excavations or damage to structures does not occur.
Equipment startup and performance testing.
This section supplements but does not supersede specific testing requirements
found elsewhere in this contract.
