Assignment on Evaluation of Group Processes

Maximum Marks: 10
This assignment is comprised of three parts:
1. Submission of a Team contract (group submission) Deadline: Monday 04th July by 5:30
pm
2. An assessment of your group members (individual submission) Deadline: Friday 02nd
September by 5:30 pm
3. Assessment of group processes (group assignment) Deadline: Friday 02nd September by
5:30 pm
Given below are instructions and sample templates for each part of the assignment.
1. Team Contract
A team contract outlines the ground rules for a project team. Your project group should work
together to create the team contract and then use it to manage/improve its performance as you
work on the project. Benefits include promoting buy-in, commitment, and common values as
well as setting clear expectations and procedures for making decisions. Your team contract
should include the following:

Shared Goals
Participation expectations
Decision Making Rules
Meeting Guidelines
Norms for managing disagreements
Feedback giving

The team contract should be a document that every member of the team actively endorses. All
group members should actively participate in the discussion and are required to sign the contract.
You are expected to adhere to deadlines; groups that fail to meet deadlines will be penalized.

readings, lectures and class discussions. We understand that there can be multiple right answers
and goals and norms will differ for groups. Thus, our grading criteria are not meant to judge or
evaluate your goals and expectations, rather we are looking for sound rationale and integration of
concepts learned with your insights and understanding of your groups processes.
