Initially, this area was an

EMERGENCY SHELTER
housing area for the people
who lost their houses. It was
meant to be temporary
shelters until the government
provides house, however the
government didnt resettle the
inhabitants in any place

Initial Status
The settlement lies in Saieda
Zainab district.
The settlement is 54 state
owned feddans, hosting 20.000
persons.
The settlement has been divided
into three phases:

- The first phase: 12.8 feddans

-The second phase: 19.2 feddans
- The first phase: 22 feddans

of physical conditions but rather promotion of the local
community in the different fields: social, economic, health,
educational and cultural

Demolition of existing construction and build new proper houses

Providing residents with provisional residence

In parallel a development program is working in their provisional place
After return to their permanent residence developmental activities will

be sustained

- Establishment of ERC center before the arrival of households
- Establishment of Social Relation Network

- Conducting a comprehensive survey for new dwellers

Core Problems
- Lack of some services,
- Difficulty in students enrollments at schools,
- Lack of security, insufficient bakeries and
-Absence of public transportation
