REFLECTION
There are various benefits and experiences that I have gained during the
benchmarking done in Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin, Jitra. There was a lot
of preparation to be done before going to the school.
The one thing I learned during this whole experience was that always do the
preparation much ahead of time so that when there is any problem, we still would have time
to make amends. Also after all the formalities has been done, following up or keeping up with
the progress is also important. It was a duty for me to make sure everything was in check
and up to date. And thankfully, everything went on as planned.
Next, another I learnt while visiting the school is how school management is good.
Excellent not only academically but also in terms of curriculum. Although the school
is a big school consisting of many pupils and most teachers there is a majority of female
teachers, they are able to make the school conducive and excellent in all aspects. It is an
indirect, was uplifting to me that female teachers are also able to do the work of the man
besides handling administrative duties.
Additionally, the indomitable spirit and culture of the school has impressed me.
Teachers in this school provide encouragement, support and active guidance to train pupils
to represent not only the school, district or state or even the involvement of national and
international level they are willing and determined to beautify the school's name. In addition,
the school environment is cheerful and also very clean. This is because, the pupils will be
more motivated to learn. Not only that, the headmaster of the school also plays an important
role for making the school a cluster school and school with excellent performance. Without
their efforts and encouragement from the teachers, they will not be able to achieve what they
have achieved now. Not enough thus, the role of teachers in these schools made a big
impact to the school because without their willingness school will also not be able to achieve
high performance.
This indirectly made me realize that without the cooperation of all parties, we cannot
stand alone. Close relationship between the management and teachers is very important to
make us comfortable working under the same roof. Clearly, that the benchmarking visit to
this excellent school gave various input and output to me. Knowledge and experience that I
have gained indirectly, it can be practiced when I enter the working world later.
