Some of our goals for this research were finding a space that can hold 1 million refugees from

Syria. Also, to make sure the space we picked had resources like water, food, and camping
grounds. Further research we encountered was the cost for putting 1 million refugees from
Syria. We want to do this as fast as possible because the only reason these people are counted
as refugees is because theyre in danger. The methods we used to study the investigation were
researching things such as calling the Galveston estuary and calculating how many refugees
can be contained in that area. Some of the models we used were tables to calculate Ph levels
for filtered water. The reason behind our selection of the Galveston Estuary as our settlement
location, is to settle refugees in Houston efficiently and with minimal amount of ecological
footprint. The filter filters large quantities of water, while maintaining a fast flow rate. This allows
refugees to be self-sufficient. The final tests gave promising results for the filter design,
substantially increasing the quality of the water, as we hypothesized the design would. The
outcome of our water filter was satisfactory. We filtered lots of the sediments within the water to
be drinkable. The filter took time to filter, but it ultimately made it clear. We expect our filter to
actually save lives and change the world. Making the worlds water drinkable is our goal for this
project, and our filter may have just made that goal tangible.
