STI College Bacoor 5th Student Summit

STI College Bacoor conducted their 5th Student Summit in SM City Bacoor Cinema 6 and
it is divided into two sessions, one for Senior High School Students and the other one is for the
College Students, these sessions topics are different from one another, yet has been delivered by
the same speakers.
The first one is Mr. Allen Jeffrey O. Saraza, a former Faculty member and Chairman for
the Office of the Student Affairs in STI College Bacoor. His topic was SECRET FILES:
Uncovering Social Media Etiquette, In his discussion, he highlightened the issues of the
millenials who tend to spend more time engaging in social media like Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram, ..., etc. Your online self should be the reflection of your personal self, this phrase
from him made me realize how different my online and my public personality from my personal
being. I always tend to hide on my mask where I always project my best, so that I would never
feel being pitied by the people around me. Also he gived us a reminder Be S.T.I, a word that
has three principles that we must follow when engaging in social media. Be Sensitive to what
others might feel or understood from the things youre posting or sharing in social media. It
might offend them, or worse feel being humiliated on some point. Be Tactful on whatever
odds you may encounter in social media. You must be aware on the activities in social media
where you are engaging with. Be Inspiring to the people around you, instead of posting your
rants and such nonsenseness that will drag someone down, post something that might help
someone, that might motivate them on what they want to do. Meaning to say, be professional in
everywhere.

The second person is Mr. Alvin Bellen, he asked this question, "What is Character to
you?" or how would you define the word character. For me, character depends on your action on
how you react in every situation. What you are doing will reflect the character you have. So be
careful on your actions and words.
His next question was "Why character is important?". It is important because characters
defines your personality. It also affects someones reputation depending on whatever action
he/she does whether it is good or bad, people will react accordingly to them. Sometimes we only
thought on what kind of character do we have. Regardless on how good or bad it may be, there
will always some people who will say something to pull you down. But, for me the best way to
of showing your personality is being true to yourself at all times, no more pretending, no more
masks, no more hiding, because the more you are true to yourself, the more you live your life in
at ease.
The third person is Dr. Ferdinand Bunag. One of the best faculty member of STI College
Bacoor and the first and only TESDA accessor in the province of Cavite and a National Level
Best in Thesis Awardee. He started his talk with shooting each of the letters from the alphabet to
the screen and sadi Ladies and gentlemen, the Alphabet... and we laughed hardly on our seats.
As we continue to his talk, he told us to what letters will be give a perfect 100 score, given that
these letters which are displayed on the screen has their own value. And the word which gave a
result of 100 is A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E. What does it take to be a leader? What are the qualities of a
true leader must have? And I reflect onto myself, if I could be a leader of my team, am I a worth
to be their leader? I found my self wanting more on his words, wanting to learn more about what
it takes to be a good leader, though It makes me sound tyranical, I am born to be a leader, thats
what I believe, I know I can be, no, I can surpass the persons where I am always sheding my self

family a better life that they want, so that I could give my children in the future everything they
want, so that I could repay all the sacrifices of my parents, and lastly, so that I could proudly tell
to myself that Im done.
