Course Description:
This course meets a wide variety of personal conditioning needs. The course is designed to help an
individual assess, learn about and practice conditioning techniques for cardiovascular health,
muscular strength and endurance, biomechanical flexibility and range of motion, and body
composition.
Course Objectives:
To develop skills and physical fitness habits that will enable students to pursue a lifelong
commitment to personal conditioning.
Students will acquire personal conditioning knowledge and the benefits that contribute to a
lifelong commitment of being physically active.
Students will value personal conditioning as vital for the pursuit of achieving and
maintaining optimum wellbeing.

Homework: All homework is to be turned in during class the day it is due. Nothing is to be
turned in any other time than during class unless otherwise noted. Assignments will not be
accepted by email unless approved by professor.
In Class Assignments: Any in class assignment that is done in-class cannot be made up.
Learning happens daily. Learning is accumulative. Come to class and keep up.
Late Work: No late work will be accepted. Assignments are due at the beginning of class when
noted on syllabus.
Testing Methods: Both quizzes and exams will consist of various types of questions
such as multiple choice, true and false, short answer, fill-in-the-blank, matching and
essay.
Methods of Learning & Instruction in this class: Each of us has a unique learning style.
Therefore it is the intent of this course to present the course material in a variety of ways to promote
high levels of learning. Presentation (instructor and student), class discussion, guest speakers, field
trips, outside reading, field-based experience, homework, & group activities will all be included in
this class.
Deportment:
The expectation for everyone is to treat others as you would like to be treated. While we can learn
to share and laugh with each other, at no time are criticism, laughing at, or negative banter
appropriate in class.
