THE CORPORATION

Corporations have changed a bit, they have become socially responsible by fines that
governments have imposed for them, but not all was well, corporations were known as real
enemy of humanity and the planet. Because the conditions were carried out to achieve an
advantage.
It was considered that "Corporations exist to create personal wealth and even global
disaster can become profit centers" dealings to employees not allow them to defend
themselves because the salary was and still lousy; not to mention working conditions. But
what are the points that led some companies to improve or take other aggressive side?
In the documentary the word "externality," refers to the effects caused by an action of an
agent on something that does not affect anything to that agent, this can be a disadvantage
for the market because the ones that are producing this, are not aware of the effects that
are leaving in people and the planet. Externalities also avoid the correct proportion in the
markets, there are products that can cause damage to the lifes of people or animals, as in
the case of persons working in laboratories or hazardous to health substances, which can
affect your genes. Another example is the damage of aerosols into the atmosphere,
producing gases and chemicals that harm both the life of our planet as human life. Many
corporations even though they knew the dangers they were causing, they lied to seek
advantage.
Most corporations do not see the harm they cause or just ignore it, most people think it
does to help a sector of the population in the world, they believe that employing things will
improve but that wage people do not they can have a good quality of life. There are
institutions where they study the functioning of corporations determining if given a good for
society but also looking at where society can contribute to them thus having an accidental
mutual benefit gives benefit because after a period of being toiling people accumulate their
income and improve economically and when they reach that point companies can decide
to move to another place where people meet low income to and pay a small salary for

labor knowing that those people the seize as step above, and with this we can say that the
company may not have lasting relationships.
Another problem that caused the externalities were when the production of a product is
excessive due to the need for increased consumption by consumers, but this is not always
good, because corporations like human beings seek survive, and these perform an
operation to people from different countries or communities, giving them a salary that does
not allow them to meet their minimum needs.
Because everything that has happened and how people have attacked companies
emerged a new concept that many corporations are carrying out to restore customer
confidence, "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) it is inherent in the company recently
has become a new form of management and doing business in which the company
ensures that its operations are sustainable in economic, social and environmental,
recognizing the interests of different groups with it relates and seeking the preservation of
the environment and sustainability of future generations. It is a business vision that
integrates respect for people, ethical values, community and the environment with the
same management company, regardless of the products or services it offers, the sector to
which it belongs, its size or nationality. This has helped many companies to follow
recovering market and its loyal consumers. A clear example is General Electric, who
previously received fines too high and as they started to come to light, people stopped
using, now the products are environmentally friendly, as is saving electricity or water.
But we must not forget that this situation still is that some of the companies put aside their
values and real goals because today are just looking for a way to increase profits no
matter who is only making at the expense of damage that they are causing to society and
the planet in general. Just pay their million-dollar fines and still there because they know
that jobs are essential to the economy we are experiencing and how people are thirsting to
work and overcome, many take advantage of that, believing themselves saviors of
humanity.
The current situation is not very different from before, what we now call "modern slavery"
affects more than 45 million people. 58% of the slaves in the world live in India, China,
Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The point is that many have changed for good and continue as bad, consumers should
take into account what is causing in the world and that resources are exhausted and only
have one planet to live
