Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Greetings from the ESL Department! I would like to extend my regards to both new
and returning students and their families. My name is Rebecca Sadrianna and I am
one of the ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers at P 79 M/ The Dr. Horan
School.
Please know that _______________ will be receiving ESL services this year. One of
the biggest goals for the ESL program is to address IEP learning expectations by
promoting students academic English language proficiency through linguistically
supporting students in their New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA) and
NYS Career and Occupational Studies Standards (NYS CDOS) aligned work.
Additionally, ESL class will be a place to affirm cultural identities and build 21 st
century skills through information technology resources and teamwork.
