KINDS OF KEYBOARD INSTRUMENT

A) ACCORDION- Are a family of box-shaped musical instruments of the bellowsdriven free-reed aerophone type, colloquially referred to a squeezebox. It is
played by compressing or expanding the bellows while pressing buttons or keys,
causing valves to open which allow air to flow across strips of brass or steel that
vibrate to produce sounds inside the body.

B) CELESTA- is a transposing instrument; it sounds one octave higher than the

written pitch. It has usually have pedals that sustains or damps the sound.

C) CLAVICHORD- is a European stringed keyboard that mostly used as a practice

instrument and as an aid to composition, not being loud enough for larger
performances. It produces sounds by striking brass or iron strings which small
metal blades called tangents. Vibrations are transmitted through the bridge to the
sound board.

D) HARPSICHORD- it produces sound by plucking a string when a key is pressed.

E) ORGAN- is a keyboard instrument of one or more pipe divisions, each played

with its own keyboard, played either with the hands on a keyboard or with the feet
using pedals.

F) PIANO- it is played using a keyboard, which is a row of keys that a performer

presses down or strikes with the fingers and thumbs of both hands.

G) PUMP ORGAN- a type of free-reed organ that generates sound as air flows past a
vibrating piece of thin metal in a frame.

H) CALLIOPE- it produces sound by sending a gas, originally a steam or more

recently compressed air, through large whistles- originally locomotive whistle.

QUESTIONS:
A) Why did the group choose the art work (Keyboard)?
Because the keyboard enables a performer to play many notes at once as well as in close
succession. And also, it offers you a chance to more completely understand the music
theory behind the harmony.
B) What was the message of the keyboard that inspired the group? Explain.
Life is like a keyboard; the white keys represent happiness and the black show sadness.
But that black keys also create music. But also in real life even we have sadness it also
makes us grow and stronger, it also bring colors to our life. Without it our life would be
meaningless.
C) How did the art of keyboard help you understand humankind?
Creating the keyboard and playing it gives meaning to the humankind. Sentimental, thats
how the people you can describe if they played the keyboard.
D) How this art enlightened you as an individual or group of student in the nature of your
course?(BSBA)
Learning how to play keyboard instrument are not easily to do. You have to know the
history, the parts, the ways and also the strategy. Like in our courses, we have to first
know all the basic before we totally get the idea what is the true meaning of business.
