PryorRendering.com
Pryor Rendering, (www.PryorRendering.com) a new musical based on the novel of the same
name by Tulsa born author Gary Reed, will play The Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall
from September 30 October 9 and The Tulsa Performing Arts Center from October 13 16
it was announced today. Directed by Stephen Nachamie (Associate Director for the 2016 Tony
award-winner She Loves Me and world premieres Mr. Confidential and Foreverman), Pryor
Rendering has music and lyrics by Frank G. Schiro, and a libretto by Shawn Churchman.
The Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) with Artistic Director Donald Jordan and the
American Theatre Company (Tulsa) with Managing Director and Scenic Designer Richard Ellis
are co-producing the musical with Churchman, Schiro and Producer Sue Conover Marinello.
Pryor Rendering is a story of the coming of age and coming out of the closet in 1960s rural
Oklahoma. Born on the pool table of his grandfathers bar, Charlie Hope is scorned by his mother,
idolizes his absent father and is coddled by his grandpas stable of floozies. In the 1960s, Pryor is
a town covered by the cloud of incinerated dreams that billows from the local rendering plant.
Against these odds, Charlie finds the courage to fall deeply and passionately in love.
Though set in the mid-20th Century, Pryor Rendering is a new musical for the 21 st Century and is
as timely as ever with what is going on in this country. It is a love story and a story of faith, family
and friendship.
The cast of Pryor Rendering features Stacey Logan (Sweet Smell of Success, Crazy For You),
Terry Runnels (Zorba), Julie Johnson (Harold Princes Candide), and Rachel Coloff
(Urinetown). Rounding out the cast are: Rebecca Ashton, Kai Daly, Ben Hall, Scott Hynes,
Jordan Jacobs, Michael Jones, Gray Randolph, and Jackie Smola with Garrett Langley as
the young Charlie Hope.

Pryor Rendering had musical direction by Mark Miller, sound design by Chance MacNeill,
lighting design by Adam Chamberlin and costume design by Andy Wallach.
Two young actors, Tanner Rose and Mark Jammal (both from the Weitzenhoffer Musical
Theatre Program at the University of Oklahoma), have been working since December with
Churchman and Schiro to develop the final script and the characters of Charlie Hope and his first
love, Dewar.
Pryor Rendering is a musical that ultimately reflects what is good in the world, said producer
Sue Conover Marinello. Small towns can be dangerously judgmental, and neighbors can seem
little more than provincial, but people can surprise you. The person you might think you should
avoid, for whatever reason, may turn out to be the very person who will save your life. Ultimately,
Pryor Rendering is an exciting story about falling in love for the very first time.
