What are the most important problems humanity should be working on

creatively, today?
The most important problems humanity should be working on creatively are as
follows:

Sustainable development and climate change - The World

Meteorological Organization reports that the amount of CO2 in the
atmosphere reached a record levels in 2012, and it was the hottest year in
the U.S, and the ninth warmest on record globally. Glaciers are melting,
polar ice caps are thinning, and coral reefs are dying. Some 30% of fish
stocks have already collapsed, and 21% of mammal species and 70% of
plants are under threat. Oceans absorb 30 million tons of CO2 each day,
increasing their acidity. The number of dead zonesareas with too little
oxygen to support lifehas doubled every decade since the 1960s. Poorer
countries that contribute the least to Green House Gases (GHG) are the
most vulnerable to climate changes impacts because they depend on
agriculture and fisheries, and they lack financial and technological
resources to cope.
Peace and conflict
Rich-poor gap - The gap between rich and poor consists of disparities in
the distribution of wealth and income also known as Economic Inequality.
The fact that inequality exists between nations is seen in the statistic that
the world's wealthiest countries have just 13% of the world's population
but 45% of its purchasing power; the poorest nations have 42% of the
world's population and 9% of its purchasing power.
Population and resources- As Per UN, World population is expected to
grow another 1 billion in just 12 years, creating unprecedented demand
for food, water, energy, and employment. Population growth is expected to
be most rapid in the 49 least developed countries, which will double the
size from around 900 million today to 1.8 billion in 2050. There were only 1
billion humans in 1804; 2 billion in 1927; 6 billion in 1999; and 7.2 billion
by 2013. UN forecasts a range from 8.3 billion to 10.9 billion people by
2050.
Democratization Democratization may be defined as the process that
leads to democracy. This is a complex political, social and also cultural
procedure or development that has taken different shapes in different
parts of the world. Beyond successful democratization, consolidating
democracy remains a major challenge in most - if not all - parts of the
world.
Health issues As per facts obtained from WHO, around 6.6 million
children under the age of 5 die each year, almost all of these childrens
lives could be saved if they had access to simple and affordable
interventions such as exclusive breastfeeding, inexpensive vaccines and
medication, clean water and sanitation and Cardiovascular diseases are
the leading causes of death in the world, around 3 in 10 deaths globally
are caused by cardiovascular diseases that can cause heart attacks and
stroke. At least 80% of premature deaths from cardiovascular diseases
could be prevented through a healthy diet, regular physical activity and
avoiding the use of tobacco.

Food waste management As per the data obtained from Food &
Agriculture organization of UN, on an average each person in Europe
waste about 275 Kg of food every year and about 800 million people
continue to struggle with hunger every day.
Women empowerment - Empowerment of women has been one of the
strongest drivers of social evolution over the past century and is
acknowledged as essential for addressing the global challenges facing
humanity. Violence against women is the largest war today, as measured
by death and casualties per year. As per facts obtained from UN, Although
125 countries have laws that penalize domestic violence, up to 70% of
women continue to be targeted for physical and/or sexual violence in their
lifetime, and 603 million women live in countries where domestic violence
is still not a crime.

3. EACH PERSON: please list at least 1 challenge youd like to work on creatively.
You might draw inspiration by asking yourself questions like:
o I wish I had an easy way to do x or I wish someone would create a
product/way to do y
o our family business faces competition from x - or declining customer base for
y what can we do?
o with x new technology/capability, we could.
