Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DST
Funded Project
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DST-Science and
Engineering Research Board (SERB) sponsored project titled "Microwave Derived Bi-modular
Composite Coatings For Encountering Erosion-Related Problems" under the supervision of
Dr. Harpreet Singh Grewal, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering,

is available immediately. The candidate may be allowed to register for PhD in the University.
Essential Qualification: Masters degree in Mechanical/Production/Material Science/Metallurgy
with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University OR Bachelors degree in
Mechanical/Production/Material Science/Metallurgy with a valid Gate score. Candidates with prior
experience in a field tuned with the project focus will be given preference.
Fellowship: 25,000 (consolidated) (year I & II); 28,000 (consolidated) per month (year III), as
per SERB norms.
Duration of the Project: 3 years.
Project Description: Main goal is to design and develop bi-modular composite coatings using
microwave technique for improving the Slurry and Cavitation erosion resistance of the fluid
machines.
