Scope of Works :

Rewinding of stator winding.

.Replacement of Bearings
Rotor Balancing
Testing of Motor
Painting of motor
Installation & Commissioning of Motors
Rebate on old removed copper winding

1) Rewinding stator winding

Above mentioned motors are found earthed and needs rewinding. it is necessary
to remove entire stator winding with at most care so as to avoid any damage to stator
slots, stampings etc.Thereafter stator slots shall be thoroughly cleaned The slots shall be

perfectly insulated with high grade F. class insulation. The make and quality of insulation
is to be get consulted with MCGM engineer.
For actual rewinding contractor shall use high quality super enameled copper
conductor with same gauge size as per existing one all care is to be taken to ensure
proper coil formation.
After rewinding varnishing shall be carried out carefully with DR. BECK.
Varnish. 2 coats of varnish shall be applied and shall sufficiently bake to guarantee
the insulation test. The inter connection of stator winding shall withstand continuous
rating to suit typical climate of sewage pumping station.
2) Replacement of bearings.
Successful contractor shall remove the existing both D.E. & N.D.E. bearings
carefully and installed new bearings to each motor by following standard engineering
practice. All the bearings shall be supplied by successful contractor with genuineness
certificate from Manufacturer/ reputed firm such as All India Bearing Association. The
contractor shall apply recommended grease for newly installed bearings. Old
removed bearings shall be handed over to owner.
3) Rotor balancing Test
The rotor of all motors shall be made dynamically balanced in presence of
authorized

engineer the test certificate for said work shall submitted along with

repaired motor
4) Testing of Motor
After complete assembly of Motor (stator and rotor) routine tests shall be
carried out in presence of authorized engineer .If the results of routine tests are found
satisfactory, the duly repaired motor shall be transported to respective pumping
stations. The motors shall be installed and connected by the contractor under
supervision of engineer.
After necessary cable connection following tests shall be carried out at site
1) No load test
2) Full load test At least 30 min.
The testing of Motor and Rotor balancing shall be carried out at the works
under witness of engineer and at the cost of contractor.

If the said motor fails to pass the above test and if any discrepancies observed
the job will be rejected and contractor has to rectify the same at no extra cost.

5) Painting of Motor
After successful routine tests at his works same shall be painted with one coat
of red oxide and two coat of grey epoxy paints .of Asian/ Berger/Nerolac make only
6) Installation & Commissioning of Motors
The contractor shall dispatch the motors to respective sites & get unload it
carefully. He shall install these motors to their original position on their stool. Necessary
cable connections shall be attended. No-load test shall be carried out at site for at least
30 minutes. Then motors will be coupled to pumps/supply fan and full load test shall be
carried out for at least 30 minutes & shall be carried out in presence of Engineer.
7) Rebate on old removed copper winding wire
Successful contractor shall offer rebate on old removed scrapped burnt copper
windings in their offer.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS

TO TENDERERS:1) The successful tenderer shall carry out the said work fully as per specifications, noting the
site conditions and instructions of Engineer in-charge of the work.
2) The tenderer shall visit the site first and get acquainted with quantum and type of work
before quoting. Ignorance of site conditions shall not be accepted as basis for any claim for
compensation. The submission of tender by him will be construed as evidence that such prior
examination is made and any later claims/disputes in regard to prices quoted shall not be
entertained or considered.
3) Post Qualifying Criteria: The tenderer should specifically note the following post qualifying
criteria towards their eligibility.

A. Tenderers registered with then class C and above of Electrical contractors shall be
eligible to quote.
OR
B. The other bidders fulfilling the following Technical and Financial criteria are eligible to
quote.
1) Technical: The bidder shall have executed successfully minimum one single job in
the field of Rewinding/Repairing of motor of capacity not less than 75 HP, During one of
last three years of value not less then Rs 1.2 lacs
2) Financial: The average annual turn over of the tenderer shall be Rs 5 lacs
during the last 3 years
3) The bidders shall submit the past performance certificate exhibiting the work order
No. Date and the cost of the work, contract period etc.
Past performance certificate exhibiting the work order no., date & cost of the work,
contract period etc. shall be annexed by the tenderer while submitting the offer.

4) Except electricity supply source and water point, all the materials required for successful
completion of the work shall have to be arranged by the contractor.

5) The tenderer shall strictly respond to every item separately in schedule of quantities
while giving his offer. However, the evaluation for award of contract will be done on the
basis of total cost.
