33. Teaching methods adopted to improve student learning:

Student learning is a center for the programme. The different teaching methods are adopted
for improving student learning as listed below:
1. Before the commencement of semester, the faculties if required are being recruited.
Requirement of instruments/software/equipment for laboratory is fulfilled.
2. We provide an academic calendar before the commencement of semester to all
departmental staff and students.
3. Load distribution for the next semester is done at the end of current semester. HoD
assigns the responsibilities to the faculties for the activities to be conducted
throughout the semester.
4. The teaching plan is prepared by every subject teacher prior to the starting of the
semester which includes lecture number, topics planned, date, topics covered, date
etc.. This is approved and monitored periodically by the HoDs.
5. The subject teachers are ask to prepare/update course file which contains academic
Calendar, syllabus, teaching plan, subject notes, PPTs, question bank on each unit,
University question papers with model solution etc.
6. Weekly meeting of faculties is conducted by HoD to discuss the problems if any and
to take updates of the conduction of academics.
7. During semester various co curricular, extracurricular activities are conducted along
with regular curriculum .Following various activities are conducted,
Lecture (LT). Class rooms of department are equipped with LCD and OHP
Laboratory Session (LS). Department has necessary advanced software to
cope up with new technologies.
Demo (DM) & Case Studies (CS).
Seminars (SM) and Group Discussion (GD) conducted to provide platform to
student to show their talent and increase confidence level of the students.
Industrial visits are organized to provide much needed industrial exposure
Students are encouraged to attend various technical Seminars/workshops in

order to get acquainted with emerging fields in Computer engineering.
Department has signed MOU with various industries and organizations to give
exposure to student for updating developments in the technologies.
Students are encouraged to join Industry internship in vacation. Institute
invites eminent persons from industries to deliver lectures on the latest
technology.
NPTEL lectures are made available.
The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled.
The Whatsapp group for every division is formed and faculty uploads
assignments, notices of extra lectures etc..
8. The continuous evaluation of students is done by university examinations as well as

internal examinations and continuous assessments carried out at institute level.
Institute conducts 1st unit test based on 40% syllabus and 2nd unit test based on
remaining syllabus per semester. Test performance of all the students is conveyed to
their parents by class teacher through telephonic calls/ SMS. University theory and
practical examination is conducted at the End Semester.
9. As a part of continuous evaluation process the term work marks given to every
student is based on overall attendance, punctuality, understanding and knowledge. A
sheet containing progressive practical internal assessment record is maintained by the
faculties for proper evaluation of term work.

upliftment of society

Determined and whole-hearted support of the management to develop the
advanced programme even with the lower intake to start with.
Specialized unique programme offering for specific skill development which

Weaknesses:
Insufficient scope for regular syllabus up gradation due to university affiliated
status of the institute.
Inadequate stimulation for the research activities.
Less R & D and Consultancy work in past years.
Less publications in referred journals
Lacking in Intellectual Property rights.
Less exposure to IT industry due to location of college in rural area.
Scarcity of Doctorate candidates for faculty positions.
Opportunities:
Institute can become autonomous under UGC and seek fund for R & D.

exposure.
Preparing student for GATE/GRE & government /public sector examination.
State government is providing financial aid to the student from weaker section
to pursue higher education.
CSE as a backend technology for all engineering fields.
Global demand for technical manpower is ever growing
New technologies are emerging
Undertaking consultancy activity for internal revenue generation.
Implementation of project based learning.
Establishing center of excellence in the area of computer science and
engineering.
Concerns/constraints:
Lack of academic autonomy especially in the curriculum and syllabus front.
Poor intake quality of students.
Due to insecurity in global market of Software, fluctuation in admission to the
CSE stream.
Fee restriction by the state government

Fetching reputed core industries for campus placements.
Future Plans:
Planning to apply for major/minor research projects to research and government
institute like DRDO, DST, AICTE.
To offer consultancy services.
To enhance R&D activities.
