multiple. (2008). Assassination of Julius Caesar. Available:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Julius_Caesar. Last accessed 7/10/16.

Direct information from the text:

The assassination of Julius Caesar was the result of a conspiracy by many
Roman senators. Led by Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus,
they stabbed Julius Caesar to death in a location adjacent to the Theatre
of Pompey on the Ides of March (March 15), 44 BC. Caesar was the
dictator of the Roman Republic at the time, having recently been declared
dictator perpetuo by the Senate. This declaration made several senators
fear that Caesar wanted to overthrow the Senate in favor of tyranny. The

conspirators were unable to restore the Roman Republic. The ramifications

of the assassination led to the Liberators' civil war and, ultimately, to the
Principate period of the Roman Empire.
Interpretation:
This information is related because it explains how the senators were
afraid Julius would get rid of the senate and replace it with dictatorship.
Source Commentary:
Choose one of your sources and respond to the following prompts:
1. Explain why it can be classified as either a primary or secondary
source. (Analysis)
2. Justify the degree of reliability of your chosen source. (Evaluation)
3. Suggest how you can use this source when completing your website
(Decision-Making)
The first source is a primary source because it is the official definition
of a Caesar. The second source is an unreliable secondary source
because it is from a site anyone can edit or change. I can use these
sources in my site to teach a little bit about Caesars to the reader.

Religions. Available: http://www.internationalstandardbible.com/R/roman-empire-andchristianity-2.html. Last accessed 13/10/16.

Direct information from the text:

In one marked way Christians contravened the tolerant elective spirit of the
empire--the intolerance and absoluteness of their religion and the exclusiveness
of their society. All other religions of the empire admitted compromise and
eclecticism, were willing to dwell rather on the points of contact with their
neighbours than on the contrast. But Christianity admitted no compromise, was
intolerant to all other systems. It must be admitted that in this way it was rather
unfair to other cults which offered comfort and spiritual support to thousands of
the human race before the dawn of Christianity

Interpretation:
This source explains how the roman empire were intolerant of Christianity
because Christians believed in and worshipped one single god instead of
multiple like other religions.

Both sources are secondary sources because none of the authors were in
ancient Rome. The first source is somewhat reliable because it is made by
a professional and trustworthy company. The second source is not very
reliable as it was published in 1939 and the information may not be true. I
can use these sources to explain why romans were intolerant of
Christians.

Although the law of the Roman Empire is not used today, modern law in many jurisdictions is
based on principles of law used and developed during the Roman Empire. Some of the same
Latin terminology is still used today. The general structure of jurisprudence used today, in many
jurisdictions, is the same (trial with a judge, plaintiff, and defendant) as that established during
the Roman Empire.

Interpretation:
This source is related because it explains how roman court is extremely
similar to our court.

can be edited by anyone. I can use these sources to show how much the
roman empire has influenced the modern world.
