The current humanitarian effort to relocate and settle refugees from war torn countries
such as Syria is a worldwide responsibility and priority. With that come the question of the
mental status of these refugees and possible effects into integration to other cultures in hosting
countries. This article covers the possible mental issues that refugees may be facing and the
precautions, if any, such countries as ours, should be taking when letting them in our borders.
The different stress levels and indications may help curb any wrongdoing by individuals in these
displaced groups to not act on anger or fear towards hosting cities and citizens.

The displacement of Syrian refugees has affected many neighboring countries. This
forced migration has grabbed the international news media attention. Some European countries
are accepting refugees in their countries, while others are closing their borders to them. Both in
Europe and America the question and issue of terrorism is on first page.

The terorist attacks in countries such as France in recent years has hindered the
admittance of Syrian and other Middle Eastern refugees from countries in civil war. Politicians
are conserned as to what security measures are being taken in allowing such individuals to our
homeland. While other politicians claim people asking for refuge or asylum are victims of
terrorism themselves.

The recent attacks in Paris set the world spotlight on issues and problems coming from
the Middle East and the possibility of such issues spreading to other parts of the world with the
displacement of refugees. Europe has been the lead in offering help to such refugees mainly
because of its geographical proximity. But with the US and Canada having a large population of
immigrants from that area of the world as well, what are they doing to help? What policies have
been set in place to not only assist in relocating massive number of peoples in our country, as
well as what security measures specially after following terrorist attacks all over Europe.

The United States has always been a force worldwide that suppresses goverments that
violate humar rights, and helps rebuild countries on the foundation of democracy and liberties for
all. The European crisis of Middle East displacement of people from war torn countries such as
Syria is no exception. It is American interest to stand by allied forces, as it has done before, and
help as much as possible in the relocation efforts. It is an opportunity for the United States to not
only help economically but also in opening its doors to refugees, while keeping in mind the
entrusted security of the American people.

Part of the solution to better refugees assistance3 is not only the logistic of movement and
the security behind the admittance in country of them. Another big part of the settlement process
is the ability to provide useful healthcare to refugees. The implementation of such an idea is said
to be able to solve the healthcare problem for all if it is able to be implemented for refugees.
