INTRODUCTION
This File Manager is an integral part of the Mazak CAMWARE and
is incorporated with the latest machining data management
concept to deal with various tasks to operate the CAMWARE
system effectively.
The File Manager, which is a 32 bit application software, runs
under a Windows 98SE,ME or Windows 2000,XP operating system.
This can handle various NC program associated data files, such as
CAD drawings and parts information. The File Manager can also
provide functions of NC data back up, machine communication,
user and NC program authorization.
Furthermore, an instant view facility of drawings or a 3D image of
the component and manufacturing instruction during browsing,
together with a quick search function, are key features to operate
the comprehensive system effectively in a user friendly manner.
The CAMWARE system allows program generation or editing of
Mazatrol Fusion 640M, M PLUS, M32 and M2 for machining
centres and Mazatrol Fusion 640T, T PLUS, T32 and T2/T3 for
turning centres.
This is supplemented by the File Manager's Mazatrol format
conversion function, which provides the facility to convert Mazatrol
programs for different type of controllers.
The CAMWARE system can be set up either as a stand-alone or
point to point network configuration. The system can also be
extended to full factory information network as your business grows.
Features:
Self configurable database for easy access eg. Customer Name,
Projects, Machine Data, Drawings, Parts Name, NC Program
etc.
Automatic generation of directory and data file.
Quick search and sorting function in the Parts Data database.
Instant view function of drawings or components, manufacturing
instructions, NC program and manufacturing due date etc.

MAIN MENU
This is the initial screen when the system is started for the first time.
This main menu screen allows you to access all available File
Manager modules and you can only exit from this screen. To
operate the File Manager you need a software security device
(dongle). If the system cannot find this device a warning message
is displayed. If this happens, please consult Appendix B.
The following is a brief description of the menu available for this
screen.
Set up
This user database allows for administration of all the users who
will access the system.

MAIN MENU
For a Networked System :
If you wish to store data in the other network drive, such as the file
server, only the name of the network drive for the data associated
directory should be changed here before the data is able to be
accessed.
For example :
The Drive K is mapped to only the network drive C of the file server
or the host computer.
1. Click the mouse on the Open button to display the CAMWARE
file directories and the name of the drive.
2. Click the mouse on the Pull down button of the Drive to display
all the available drives in the system.
3. Move the cursor bar to highlight the Dive K. Click the mouse on
the OK button to confirm the selection or the Cancel button to
abort the change.
4. The Data path of Set Up dialogue box is changed to the
CAMWARE file directory of the Drive K ( K:\CAMWARE ) in
order to share the same data in the file server of the host
computer.
The resultant directory structure will be displayed as below :
K : \CAMWARE \DATABASE.BAK
\MC
\PROFILES
\TC
\USR
Note : If the Drive K is mapped to the network drive C
CAMWARE file directory ( C:\CAMWARE ) of the file
server or the host computer, the Data path of Set Up
dialogue box is changed to Drive K ( K:\ ) only.
The resultant directory structure will be displayed as
below :

Warning: If the main path is changed, the CAMWARE system
must be exited and logged into again before the new
main path becomes valid.
CAMWARE Application:
The appropriate command to start the CAMWARE is entered here
automatically in accordance with the module installed.
No
character in this field should be changed unless instructed by
authorised Mazak personnel.
In the event of loss of the command in the MCPMAN.INI file which
contains configuration settings of the File Manager, or
encountering difficulties in starting CAM, you can re-enter the right
command by selecting the CAMWARE module which is available to
you.

MC No:
The File Manager will automatically assign the next available
machine number. This machine number is used to identify the
appropriate fields in the database and used for MC name file
extension.
The machine number is allocated at the next available field or the
increment of the last machine number on the list. For example, the
last machine number on the list is 10, the default machine number
displayed in this box is 11. However, if there is a space before
machine number 10 (eg. MC No = 3), the File Manager
automatically displays 3 in the box for the next machine number to
be used.
Note: The maximum number of machine data which can be
entered is 999.
4-8
MACHINE DATA
MC Name:
It is recommended to use the Mazak machine model name. A
maximum of 20 characters can be entered.
Note 1: The machine number is automatically generated and used
as an extension of the Machine Name File. It is
recommended to use the Mazak Machine Model for the
MC Name (Maximum 20 characters) and the machine
reference name of your own company for the Comment
(Maximum 100 characters). All the machine parameters,
such as cutting conditions, tool file are stored in the MC
or TC sub-file directory as shown below.

(ID No.), Project, Part Name, Drawing No, Process No and
Program No.
Note:

PART DATA
(ii) Group Part Database
Since most of the machining jobs, in practice, can be
categorized under Project Name, Part Name Program Number
combined with Program Type, these four fields are displayed in
the common area as shown below when this option is selected.
The selection of this option initiates the File Manager to sort and
categorize the above two fields of Project and Part Name. By
clicking the mouse button in the box of Project, all project
names available are displayed in the drop down list, which
allows you to select the item.
Once the item is selected by clicking the mouse button in the list,
the File Manager will continue to sort the next field of
information (ie., Part Name) and again display the sorted
information in the drop down list when the mouse is clicked in
the box of Part Name. Further selection of the items initiate
the display of the corresponding number of programs with the
program number and program type.
Therefore, when this option is selected, only information
relevant to the specific part directory (eg. \Project\Part Name)
will be displayed in the table of the Part Data.

If the program number is 1000, the graphic file name must
be 00001000.JPG or 00001000.BMP and exist in the data
file directory CAMWARE\USR\PROJECT\PART1.XXX.
Note: If you have large Part Data list or access the data from
the file server, it is recommended to switch off the
shape display before you scroll the Part Data list in
order to minimise scrolling time.
Trouble shooting of shape display:
1. If the shape of the selected Part Data is not displayed,
move the cursor to the next Part Data and move the
cursor back again.
