Period Constructing an Empathy Map Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass: Chapter What does Frederick Douglass Say Frederick says that his relatio between him and his mother is vey distant. He compared the relationship to him and a stranger. He was not allowed to see his mom because she was always working and when she wasn’t working she was cooking. Mr. Douglass didn’t even get to go to his mother’s funeral. Another thing he said is that he doesn't know his own age. He compared the slaves to horses because not really any slaves know when they were brought into the world. What does Erederick Dougips 0 Mr. Douglass escapes from slavery in Baltimore while he was being ‘rented’ out. He met somebody and left with her. He went over to england. His friends bought his freedom. When he came back to the U.S he wasa free man. So he began speaking at abolitionist movement where he was called on stage because he was a former slave and he ended up speaking for over 2 hours. The crowd loved him and became very well known. I think that Mr. Douglass was thinking about his future and how he could help destroy slavery. I believe he was also thinking about his past like the songs, his friends(if he had any), his master(which is also likely to be his father), his auntie which was whipped, and also what he felt like back then.
