 DEFINE AND DISCUSS:

1. PODCAST
A podcast is an episodic series of digital media files which a user can
set up so that new episodes are automatically downloaded via web
syndication to the users own local computer or portable media player.
In the hospital setting podcast will be useful in updating the patients
health record easily and even at home they can remind the patient
about the updates in his/her condition.
2. LOG

A record of computer activity used for statistical purposes as well as

backup and recovery. Log files are written by the operating system or
other control program for such purposes as recording incoming dialogs,
error and status messages and certain transaction details. Start and
stop times of routine jobs may also be recorded.
This log will be used to record the start and stop times of routine jobs
in the health care field.

3. WEB-BASED INSTRUCTION
Web-based instruction (WBI) is a hypermedia-based instructional
program which utilizes the attributes and resources of the World Wide
Web to create a meaningful learning environment where learning is
fostered and supported.
In the classroom the web-based learning the instructors can use
technology that supports traditional classroom training and online
learning environment.
4. E-LEARNING
E-learning is learning utilizing electronic technologies to access
educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom. In most
cases, it refers to a course, program or degree delivered completely
online. E-learning as courses that are specifically delivered via the
internet to somewhere other than the classroom where the professor is
teaching. It is not a course delivered via a DVD or CD-ROM, videotape
or over a television channel.
This can be used in some classes because it is interactive in that you
can also communicate with your teachers, professors or other students
in your class.
5. TELECONFERENCING
Teleconferencing means meeting through a telecommunications
medium. It is a generic term for linking people between two or more
locations by electronics.
It is efficient in following up the condition of patients even they are at
home.
6. VIDEOCONFERENCING

Video conferring means to conduct a conference between two or more

participants at different sites by using a computer networks to transmit
audio and video data.
This is helpful in health care service that even in far areas they can
communicate through video conferencing.

WEB-BASED INSTRUCTION
NURSING CLINICAL PRACTICE- helps health professionals use online
patient education to prepare patients for medical procedures,
administer intake and informed consent paperwork, educate patients
about health conditions, provide information about preventive care,
encourage healthy behavior and lifestyle changes, etc. Health
insurance companies use online patient education to inform patients
about coverage policies.
