SENIORS CELEBRATE ON 13

NOVEMBER

PASSION, INTEGRITY & APNAPAN

Last two weeks have been quite eventful and very difficult for all of us and the community in
general.
The terrorists martyred sixty police recruits in Quetta. Abdullah Siddiqui met untimely death
when murdered in a hotel in Ballarat. Dreamworld ride cost lives and then Manmeet was burnt
alive.
In addition, the feedback on Discussion paper was due on 31 st October regarding Long Term Visa
for parents. There were two nights when literally all of the members have worked throughout to
meet the demands.
On 30th October, we got to know that only the mother of Late Abdullah was granted visa to
attend the funeral of the only son while the father was denied. We were exactly in the same
boat as were in 2015 when Hassan Asif was breathing his last and wanted his mother by his side.
Once again an online petition was initiated and the community was able to get more than 10,000
signatures (thanks to social media). Yet the High Commission of Australia did not approve Visa
and the Hon. Minister did not intervene to show empathy towards the family. This is a very
serious matter and will be taken up as a priority by the Group. PIA also issued a media release
available on next page.

ROOHULLAH WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER

When the terrorist entered the Quetta training school for
police recruits, it was Commando Roohullah who threw
himself on one of the terrorists and sacrificed his life to save
many others. Capt Roohallah Shaheed has been awarded
Tamgha-e- Jurrat and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali Shaheed
Tamgha Basalat. We changed our cover photographs on all social media pages
and website to show our respect for the Shaheed.
