The Database Administrator's role is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases

while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and
overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their
accompanying software. Plans, coordinates, and supervises complex informatics assignments; designs and applies
new methods and procedures; may supervise staff. Responsible for physical databases on specific database
technologies; design and implement back up, recovery, archiving and conversion strategies. Maintains the integrity of
databases. Lead or provide subject matter expertise in production and non production databases for data
development. Manage database distribution, configuration, security and access requirements. Design and develop
physical databases. Lead or perform testing, reporting, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and restores.
Provide leadership and technical expertise to on going problem identification and resolution and root cause analysis
process for database environments SKILLS: DBMS, Data warehousing expertise, Performance tuning and Root
cause analysis experience. Previous application and operating systems knowledge. Can perform data warehousing
and data modeling functions. Advises and updates management on database concepts and techniques. The

candidate will have a strong background and experience as a DBA with DB2 in both Development and Production
environment. Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience DB2 DBA Certification from IBM
Corporation or an accredited institution 10 years hands-on experience in developing, maintaining and optimizing DB2
based applications and databases. 5-7 years supporting very large DataWarehouse (> 10 Terabytes) 5-7 hands-on
experience supporting development using SQL, Java, Stored Procedures, Triggers Must be able to travel and enter
the US - as required

Must Haves:
-Strong DB2 experience
-6+ years of expeirence in this area as a DBA (please do not submit candidates that are NOT DBA's) they will be
rejected
-Strong knoweledge of and experience with Data Warehousing (there are currently 5 projects that this individual will
be responsible for (some Warehouse and some non-Warehouse-related projects
-Must come froma large enterprise-level environment
-Solid understanding of SQL (language NOT the server)
-Effective communication skills
