EARTHQUAKE IN ICA 2007

The quake occurred on August 15, 2007 at 6 and 45 o'clock.

The magnitude of the MHIS was 8.9 degrees and the epicenter was in pisco
I was in my house in the tinguia doing my homework and watching television
when the earthquake started and began moving earth. I was with my mom and
younger brother.
The land was still moving and increasingly grew louder. The walls of the houses
began to move. My family and I went out to protect our security. The quake was
so strong that cost us a lot of work and we had to walk the walls hold us to go
outside.
The quake lasted about two minutes. When the earthquake happened to leave
our house, we saw many destroyed neighboring houses and falls. People were
desperate and shouting for their relatives. People began to run and trucks drove
at full speed to reach as quickly to see their relatives. That same night a group
of people began to want to steal houses, people were very frightened and slept
with fear that there may be aftershocks. The next day the view of the city of Ica
was different, hundreds of homes damaged and destroyed, dirt and dust
everywhere. After 3 day I get help from the government of Lima with water and
food.
