Graduate Application Acknowledgement letter from Teacher Applicant Centre

Dear Miss Meegan Brushe (5288890)

It is with pleasure that we acknowledge receipt of your application for employment as a
teacher with the Department of Education and Training (DET).
You have been assigned a unique identification number 5288890. You are required to quote
this number in all future communications with DET. Once employed with the Department, in
casual, temporary or permanent capacity, this number becomes your Employee Number.
Suitability assessment interviews are offered in response to workforce demand; therefore,
you may not immediately be offered an assessment interview. Graduate applicants are
eligible for unlimited casual employment and temporary employment up to a maximum of
one semester duration in total (minimum of four weeks). Where a graduate applicant is
engaged in a temporary position prior to an assessment, the school is responsible for
ensuring that an assessment interview is offered prior to or at completion of the temporary
contract. Graduate applicants seeking additional temporary employment or permanent
employment are required to undertake the suitability assessment interview.
When you have undergone your assessment interview, rankings for end of year graduates
are available from the end of February of the year following completion of your qualification.
Rankings for mid-year graduates are available from the end of September of the year
following completion of your qualification. Rankings are accessible via the departments
Make a difference. Teach webpage
http://education.qld.gov.au/hr/recruitment/teaching/apply/suitability.html and can be
accessed by using your identification number.
Offers of employment can be made at any time and are dependent on workforce demands.
The Teacher Applicant Centre does not manage or make job offers. Enquiries regarding
offers of employment or identified vacancies should be directed to the Staffing Officers in the
relevant Regional Office. The contact details for the Regional Offices can be found in

If you have not already done so, you should now submit your registration application to the
Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and not wait until you complete your studies. Apply
online at www.qct.edu.au. You will be issued with an Application Number from the
Queensland College of Teachers.
Applicants are not eligible for teacher employment until Queensland College of Teachers
registration has been obtained.
The department utilises an internal human resources solution to support Queensland state
schools to source casual and temporary teachers. This solution is called MyHR
Recruitment/TRACER. If you have nominated casual or temporary employment preferences
on your application for teacher employment, the department will automatically activate your
account access to TRACER. You will receive a separate email from TRACER. It is

important to follow the instructions in this email and activate your account. Queensland state
schools use TRACER to select and search for teachers who have nominated their school as
a location preference.
To finalise your application for teacher employment, upon completion of your course of
studies you must supply certified copies of your Teacher Qualifications/Award certificate
or full transcripts of results which must state completed/conferral date. Overseas
qualifications must be presented with full transcripts of results and provide English
translations, if necessary. Internet copies of your final academic transcripts are not
acceptable
General information can be found on the Departments website via the Make a difference.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you advise the Teacher Applicant Centre by email at
tac@dete.qld.gov.au of any changes to any part of your application including the
deactivation of your application for employment. Your application for employment will remain
active for two (2) years, from the date your application was accepted, providing you
undertake work in a State school in this period.
If you are a visa holder you must have a valid Australian visa with work rights. If your
Australian visa status changes you must immediately advise the department at
tac@dete.qld.gov.au. Failure to inform the department could result in your application for
employment being deactivated.
The department invites you to stay connected through our many mediums, including
subscribing to the Make a difference. Teach newsletter and visiting Queensland
Governments Smart jobs and careers for the latest information on teaching vacancies.
We wish you success with your teaching endeavours.
