ABSTRACT
Driven by technology advances, massive data centers consisting of tens or even hundreds
of thousands servers have been built as infrastructures by large online service providers, in which
the performance of data center networks (DCNs) plays a critical role. Designing a cost-effective
network topology for data centers that can deliver sufficient bandwidth and consistent latency
performance to a large number of servers has been an important and challenging problem.
EXISTING SYSTEM
A popular server-centric data center network is BCube, which is a hierarchical network
with many good properties, such as low network diameter, efficient routing and so on. However,
BCube is limited by its poor expandability, as
impossible, incurs tremendous hardware and human efforts, because the existing network
structure has to undergo significant manipulation and all the servers require more NIC ports for
expansion. For this reason, BCube only fits in a limited range of applications, such as modular
data center networks within a shipping container. Another drawback of BCube is that the
hardware cost increases drastically with the number of network hierarchies (or orders), because a
BCube network of a large order requires each connected server to have multiple NIC ports.
However, the majority of commodity servers in current market are equipped with only two NICs
DIS ADVANTAGES
As the scale of data centers increases rapidly, the lack of expandability in existing servercentric data center networks imposes a severe obstacle for data center upgrade.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
In this paper, we study a novel server-centric network topology for data center
communication, called BCube Connected Crossbars, denoted as BCCC for short, which

combines the merits of the aforementioned server-centric networks but eliminates their
drawbacks. BCCC can be constructed using dual-port commodity servers and commodity
switches, which makes it a cost-effective network solution for large-scale data centers. Another
very desirable feature of BCCC is that it is easily expandable, as expanding an existing BCCC
network to a larger size with a higher network order requires no change to the existing network
infrastructure or the number of ports of a server, which greatly facilitates data center upgrade.
Each pair of servers in BCCC is connected via a rich set of parallel paths with near-equal length,
through which BCCC not only can deliver sufficient network bandwidth, but also can maintain
predictable network performance and robustness against component failure.
ADVANTAGES
It is easily expandable.
There are a rich set of parallel paths with similar length between any pair of servers in
BCCC, which enables BCCC to not only deliver sufficient bandwidth capacity and
predictable latency to end hosts.
