ABSTRACT
Laparotomy is a surgical incisison in the abdominal wall to examine the abdominal
organs. One indication of laparotomy is Cholelithiasis. Patient with surgical wound
will experience pain in the wound incision and vulnerable to get of infection. The
purpose of this report were to discuss nursing care of patient with Cholelithiasis post
laparotomy, the application of foot massage for pain reducing and the management
optimize the accuracy of patient identification in surgical room Class I Dr.M.Djamil
General Hospital Padang. The procedure were started from assessing, data
analysing, determining a diagnosis, planning and evaluating the results. The primary
diagnosis was acute pain. After implementation foot massage for seven days, it could
reduce pain intensity that felt by the patient so as to speed the healing. The service
management should the accuracy patient identification by nurses. It were
recommended that nurses do foot massage for non-pharmacological pain
management in patients with postoperative wound laparotomy and for management
of nursing services in order to further optimizing the accuracy of patient
identification in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) approved
in hospital.
