PROGRAM TO DECREASE THE DENGUE HEMORRAGIC FEVER

ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND : Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is endemic disease
cause by Dengue virus infection mediated by Aedes,especially Aedes Aegypti
mosquito. In Puskesmas Teluk Naga working area, there is an increasing case from
13 case in 2015 to 18 case from January until June 2016, with the most common is
in Kampung Melayu Timur. It is estimated that the case will increased in rainy
season.
PURPOSE: With this intervention program, it is expected that the cause
DHFs increasing will be known and morbidity and mortality caused by DHF will
reduced.
SUBJECT AND METHOD: Desa Kampung Melayu Timur is chosen
because it has the highest DHF morbidity rates. The used method is community
diagnosis with BLUM paradigm approachment and fishbone diagram to find the
cause.Priority issues determined by non scoring methods by Delphi.The used design
is quasi-experimental and sample collected with purposive non-random
sampling.Data collected with using questionare and datas from Puskesmas.
RESULT: Lifestyle is determined as the cause of problems. After
counseling, the number of people with enough knowledge assessed through a posttest increased from 47.5% to 92.5%. Angka Bebas Jentik (ABJ) is increased from
65% to 83,3%. Monitoring is done routinely with Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA)
cycle.
CONCLUSION: This intervention can increase the knowledge and public
awareness and Angka Bebas Jentik, so this intervention can be continued.
