Abstract
Background: Circumcision is often done by people not only for religious reasons, but also
for health reasons. Medically it is said that circumcision is very beneficial for health. Many
diseases can be avoided by circumcision, such as phimosis, paraphimosis, candidiasis,
malignant tumors and prre malignant in the male genital area. Men who are circumcised,
more hygienic, in old age easier to take care of the part and sexuality are more favorable
(more clean, not easy abrasions / irritation, avoid premature ejaculation) (Basuki 2000).
Generally, in the process of circumcision will generate an incision at the time of cutting the
prepuce of the penis which will be wound so that the healing process requires. The factors
that affect wound healing is the patient's weight and nutritional status. In addition, the
deficiency of carbohydrates, protein, zinc, vitamin A, B, C may inhibit wound healing in
circumcision. This study aims to determine the effect of the nutritional quality of patient post
circumcision based on the length of the circumference of the upper arm with wound healing
post-circumcision of Children in District of Seputih Mataram Central Lampung Regency
2015.
Methods: As for the research method used is prospective (chohort) conducted in 36 pediatric
patients who underwent circumcision. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling.
And statistical tests penilitian using Chi-square test. Primary data are collected is LLA
measured on the first day of treatment, wound healing The patient was measured at day 10
post-circumcision
Result: The subjects of this study were 36 children who underwent circumcision in district of
seeputih Mataram as Central Lampung regency in 2015 found children with nutritional
quality is not ideal in the amount of 19 respondents (52.8%) and found children with long
healing wounds 10 days ie by 20 respondents (56.6%).
Conclusion: From the results of research conducted, there is a significant correlation
between the nutritional quality of the healing old wounds.
